Hi everyone! Here’s a look at what I wore to work last week.

This week, I am in Toronto for work and although I did bring my good camera (the one I use for outfit pics), I didn’t pack my tripod as I wasn’t sure about the outfit-taking logistics. But, I will do my best to take mirror or top-down selfies and share a round-up with you when I’m back (or before), in December.  Update - I am at the hotel and the full-length mirror is horribly lit :\

I feel pretty good about how I packed for this trip … we’ll see how I feel about it in two weeks! It just snowed in Toronto and I didn’t pack any boots ... that could turn out to be a big mistake! … or an excuse to buy a pair of Native boots ;)

I don’t have anything very exciting to tell you about these outfits, so why don’t you let me know if you have any Toronto recommendations for me? The only place I know I really want to go is Momofuku/Milk Bar. And we have reservations at Frings, which apparently is Drake’s restaurant?

As always, thank you for reading!

Hi everyone!

Only three looks from last week to share today, as it was a short week/long weekend with Remembrance Day (Veteran's Day in the US) on Friday, and one morning I went to Barre before work so wasn't able to take any outfit pics.  Above I am wearing both pairs of new shoes I talked about last week - the Jaydun ankle booties by Steven Madden and the Deloris pointy-toe block heel by Aldo - both are great!

How do you guys feel about daylight savings?  Do you have them where you are?  Since I am not an early riser, and don't need to be for my job, I would prefer if we had more light after work, rather than before!  When it gets dark and I'm still at work I don't feel motivated to go to the gym - I just want to go home and get cozy on the couch!  I did a couple of morning workouts last week just for that reason.  But I never have as much energy in the morning, so I do prefer to workout after work.  Actually, the ideal time for me is lunchtime!  I had a job for a few years where that was an option and I very rarely skipped a workout.  It was great!  What do you guys do to stay fit?

Thank you for reading!

Hi everyone!  How are you?

Things have been good around here, both busy and slow.  No middle ground, you know what I mean?  All good things though.  On the weekend my parents returned from a 3-week trip to Peru, Machu Picchu and the Galapagos Island.  It was great to see them and hear all about their trip!  We went for brunch and then took them to visit our cousin and his newborn (5 days old!) baby on Saturday, followed by a return trip to the airport where they flew back to the Okanagan (where they live).  Then, T and I went to a friend's place near Chinatown for a glass of wine before dinner at Pizzeria Ludica.  It's an Italian restaurant with board games!  So naturally we had to give it a try :)

Friday night I went to an opening at the Vancouver Art Gallery with a few colleagues, but before that I did some shopping!  I told you last week that I was on the fence about these booties from Urban Outfitters.  Well, I had almost resigned myself to keeping them but decided to give myself Friday night to find a better pair.  Luckily, and in no thanks to Hudson's Bay super slow customer service, I managed to find this pair, "Jaydun" by Steve Madden.  I wore them today and they are great.  They kind of cut into my skin at the ankle when I walk but other than that I am happy.  Minor detail for an otherwise agonizing hunt!  They are definitely more than I wanted to spend ($170 + tax), but I am hoping for a price adjustment during the week (they are already down to $127.50).  I also purchased these low-heeled shoes from Aldo ("Deloris") which I haven't worn yet but are so cute.  I think they will go with everything.  In-store, they also came in a burgundy suede which was gorgeous.  I don't know about suede in the winter but gosh they were pretty!!  Again, I was pained to pay full price ($65) but will check for a price adjustment this week.
I popped into Old Navy to return these jeans and this shirt that I mentioned last week (the scarf was a keeper although it sheds) and found this vest on sale for 50% off!  I would have preferred the darker colour, but it's a minor detail for something I will probably wear mostly underneath my J.Crew coat, since it is boxy and not all that warm!

Well, that's it for now!  As always, thank you for reading!
