Hey everyone, Happy February!

Normally I feel like January really drags its feet, but taking a week off near the end (we went to California) was amazing!

Anyways, here's a look at what else I wore to work in January.  I'll try to put together a Monthly Outfit Roundup later this week and then maybe a February Week One post early next!  Eek!  We have a long weekend coming up and T is going to Seattle so (in theory) I should have some time to blog :)

As I mentioned in my last post, I did some New Years shopping (literally - most of my new purchases were completed on New Year's Day!).  This Space-Dye Swing Dress from Old Navy is super cute and comfy.  I saw it on another blogger (I forget who - sorry!) and she was raving about how good it was so after some initial hesitation I decided to try it.  I was unsure for a few reasons - 1. I'm trying to buy less "knit" dresses etc as they show wear more quickly and look less expensive than other materials such as poly, silk, rayon etc.  2. The shape was kind of ... well, shapeless.  Or at the very least, attempting to "hide a pregnancy" (I'm not!).  3. The colour selection was limited.  I've started to feel a bit self-conscious about wearing grey after someone I know suggested it wasn't the most flattering colour on me.  To combat #3, I ordered it in both the blue and the grey, but ultimately decided the grey is more versatile.  I love the long sleeves, the short length, the shape (to hide my food baby) and the soft knit material, so it's definitely a winner!  I also ordered a very similar sleeveless dress in black from Aritzia that I wore in California.  Mega thumbs up - you will definitely see that on the blog in the Summer!

I finally bit the bullet and got a pink coat!!  Pink is my favourite colour and I have been dying for a pink coat for 2 winters now!  I also really wanted a camel coat (so versatile) and was focused on adding one of those to my closet first.  But after having no luck for the past two years (I had a pretty specific wishlist), and J.Crew's boxing week sale (40% off sale), I decided to go for it!  All in, the coat was $257 CAD.  Which is a lot of money for me to spend on one item, but for a piece of wool outerwear I think it is pretty reasonable/standard and hopefully this coat will last a long time.  The colour is just perfect, it's so pretty!  The fit is slightly oversized and boxy, which I knew and was willing to compromise on.  As someone who is petite, form-fitting outwear looks much better, however I like that I can layer thick sweaters etc underneath and it does nip in a bit at the waist.  The colour makes up for any shortcomings in my opinion!  Even the fact that it's not quite as warm as I was expecting!  Grace from The Stripe has the same coat in 2 colours (except hers has the fur-trimmed hood) and she says hers is warm in New York winter, so I don't know what's going on with mine?!  I am cold all the time, so maybe it's just that!

One last item to mention, the peplum wrap blouse from Dynamite which is now sold out!  Arghh!  I couldn't even find anything similar to link to but I promise if it gets re-stocked I will let you know.  I love that it's a neutral top with an interesting animal print-polka dot hybrid pattern going on.  The wrap front and subtle peplum are great details, too.  I really love this top.  In these photos I pinned the wrap front a little higher since I was wearing a camisole underneath that I didn't want showing, but in the Spring/Summer when a cami isn't necessary for warmth I don't think it would need to be pinned.

What are your thoughts on my purchases and outfits this week?  Have you already started thinking about your Spring wishlist?
