Hi everyone!  How are you?

Things have been good around here, both busy and slow.  No middle ground, you know what I mean?  All good things though.  On the weekend my parents returned from a 3-week trip to Peru, Machu Picchu and the Galapagos Island.  It was great to see them and hear all about their trip!  We went for brunch and then took them to visit our cousin and his newborn (5 days old!) baby on Saturday, followed by a return trip to the airport where they flew back to the Okanagan (where they live).  Then, T and I went to a friend's place near Chinatown for a glass of wine before dinner at Pizzeria Ludica.  It's an Italian restaurant with board games!  So naturally we had to give it a try :)

Friday night I went to an opening at the Vancouver Art Gallery with a few colleagues, but before that I did some shopping!  I told you last week that I was on the fence about these booties from Urban Outfitters.  Well, I had almost resigned myself to keeping them but decided to give myself Friday night to find a better pair.  Luckily, and in no thanks to Hudson's Bay super slow customer service, I managed to find this pair, "Jaydun" by Steve Madden.  I wore them today and they are great.  They kind of cut into my skin at the ankle when I walk but other than that I am happy.  Minor detail for an otherwise agonizing hunt!  They are definitely more than I wanted to spend ($170 + tax), but I am hoping for a price adjustment during the week (they are already down to $127.50).  I also purchased these low-heeled shoes from Aldo ("Deloris") which I haven't worn yet but are so cute.  I think they will go with everything.  In-store, they also came in a burgundy suede which was gorgeous.  I don't know about suede in the winter but gosh they were pretty!!  Again, I was pained to pay full price ($65) but will check for a price adjustment this week.
I popped into Old Navy to return these jeans and this shirt that I mentioned last week (the scarf was a keeper although it sheds) and found this vest on sale for 50% off!  I would have preferred the darker colour, but it's a minor detail for something I will probably wear mostly underneath my J.Crew coat, since it is boxy and not all that warm!

Well, that's it for now!  As always, thank you for reading!

  1. Jules, I have that Old Navy faux-fur vest and absolutely LOVE it! I also checked out that BR tiered tank, it's so cute and perfect for layering under a blazer for the office. Great looks.
