Set the Tone

Oh, how I love this dress.  Red is one of my favourite colours to wear, I think it is very complimentary on me.  I remember a time not too long ago when someone commented on me wearing something red (could have been this dress, I don't remember), saying that it was a bold choice & I must not be afraid to be noticed.  I found that really interesting because I had never thought of it that way.  But it's true, in a sense.  I don't shy away from bold colours and I would rather be noticed in my clothing choices than not.  I think it's part of the reason I have a blog!  But of course, this person didn't know any of that, they were just making an assessment of my personality based on my outfit.  This is one of the great reasons I think people should care about what they wear.  Of course, if you are reading this blog, you are probably already one of those people.  But I know that there are a lot of people who think caring about what you look like, how you dress, hair, makeup, beauty etc just equals vanity.  But it doesn't!  That person's comment to me conveys just the opposite - we are judged, assessed and characterized but what we wear & how we present ourselves to the world.

What are your thoughts?

"Bow" Peep & Black Panther

3.25.2013

I'll call this look "Little Bow Peep"

And this look "Black Panther"

(Blazer by Forever 21, Top by Dynamite, Pants by Gap, Boots by Aldo, Necklace by Tiffany & Co.)

Hi! Happy Monday!
I hope you all had a great weekend.
We spent ours pretty much just hanging around the apartment being lazy and getting various things done as we felt like it.  I had been given a large bag of apples from my Mum/Sister last weekend so I made this crockpot applesauce and apple chunk bread.  Still not even halfway through all the apples!  Tony is doing a painting for above our couch and got started on that this weekend too.  I'm really excited!  He's a great painter and the sunset he's doing will bring some much needed colour to our living room.

Weekend Outlook

2.15.2013

(Cardigan by Costa Blanca (gifted), Top by H&M, Skirt by Bedo, Tights by Gap, Shoes by Banana Republic, Necklace by Joe Fresh)

Hi there!  Did you all have a great Valentine's Day ?  I certainly hope so!
T totally spoiled me with unexpected presents, we made an epic dinner of steak & lobster, along with a bottle of red wine & a bottle of pink sparkling champagne.  Then I made a huge chocolate chip cookie that we ate with vanilla bean Haagen Dazs.  Yum!

Tomorrow I have to work (we have a show opening at the gallery), but I do still get a weekend with Sunday & Monday.  We don't have plans for Sunday (yay!), and Monday we are meeting with a travel agent that specializes in destination weddings (also yay!).

What about you lovelies ?  Any plans for the weekend ?  Is it a long weekend where you are?

Spring-ey in January

1.11.2013

(Cardigan by Costa Blanca (gifted, similar), Top by Old Navy (similar), Pants by H&M (similar), Shoes by Urban Outfitters (similar))

Here's a bright & Spring-ey outfit to take us into the weekend!
Oh, and a cute little ponytail :)
I am having a slight hair crisis at the moment ... as in, I can't decide what to do with it.  My bangs need to be cut, and I want blunt bangs, but I don't think they would look good with my current haircut ... real 1st world problems over here, I'm telling ya!
Anyways, I've scheduled an appointment with my stylist, who is awesome & always knows what to do!

I hope you all have an amazing weekend!

Aztec Top & Pesto Cords

11.30.2012

(Cardigan by Costa Blanca (gifted), Top c/o Sugarlips, Pants by Old Navy, Belt by F21 (from a dress), Shoes by Banana Republic (outlet), Earrings by Tiffany & Co.)

I've been wearing this top a lot lately, but not during the day/to work, so you haven't seen it!
I really love the funky cut out neckline & it's as comfy as a t-shirt.

Have a great weekend!
