Jules in Flats - August Outfits Week Two (Business Casual Summer Workwear on a Budget)

Oh hi!  Welcome back to my little corner of the internet!  It's been a bit of a day so far but we are getting there.  I said this last week but I'll say it again - please bear with me as I figure out the lighting and editing of these indoor outfit pics!  I'm a little embarrassed as I know they're uneven, but my photography and editing have never been the best so hopefully you'll stick with me!

Jules in Flats - Chambray Tassel Tie Top (Business Casual Summer Workwear on a Budget)

I thought I hadn't worn this top yet this summer until after I'd shot and worn this outfit and saw this post from July - whoops!  Not that there is anything wrong with re-wearing items at all, I just obviously have a short memory!  LOL

Jules in Flats - Wilfred T-Shirt Dress with Headband (Business Casual Summer Workwear on a Budget)

I haven't worn a headband in awhile and this pink floral one from H&M seemed like a good way to dress up a plain black dress (it's sold out but I linked a similar one below).  Also I just needed to get my hair out of my face!  It's been really frizzy for some reason (humidity?!) and it's driving me crazy.  Add in day 2 or 3 hair and it's game over.

Jules in Flats - Cropped Floral Jumpsuit (Business Casual Summer Workwear on a Budget)

Day 3 hair case in point!  I definitely considered washing and blow drying my hair straight this day, but a top knot is so much easier!  Plus, it's a style I haven't done in awhile.  Ditto for this Old Navy jumpsuit which really are like work pajamas.

Jules in Flats - Sleeveless Knit Tunic with Mini Skirt (Business Casual Summer Workwear on a Budget)

I felt really proud of this outfit after putting it together because I don't think I've worn it before!  I haven't looked through the archives though, so I could be mistaken!  The only problem was, the weather turned out to be slightly too cold for it!

It's supposed to rain this weekend, so we don't have any fun outdoorsy plans, just indoor domestic ones!  My parents are stopping by later today on their way to Vancouver Island and may stay the night, so we need to tidy up the apartment, and Tony's aunt is coming on Tuesday to stay with us for a week, so we need to clean/get ready for her as well!  Last night we did a bunch of laundry and I got the guest bed ready, so a few things are done at least.  In long-term planning home stuff, we might also go and look at hot tubs and bathroom tiles this weekend!

I had planned on making this zucchini bread recipe last night as we had a bunch of zucchinis in the fridge, but when I went to make it I couldn't find our loaf pan!  I must have thrown it out in our last move (or before)?  It's a mystery - I know that we used to have one because I love making banana bread, but I obviously haven't made it in quite some time!

We finally decided to buy an air conditioner, so that's been nice.  The weather seems to be cooling down now so we probably should have bought it in July, but what can you do?  We didn't know if our place would get that hot since this is our first summer in it!

Also, peaches!  I have been eating 1-2 peaches every day for literally two weeks.  My parents came down from the Okanagan a couple of weeks ago and brought a huge box of fresh peaches with them.  Tony and I each brought a bunch to our work places and we still had tons left!  I love peaches, they are one of my favourite fruits so I'm not complaining in the slightest, it has been such a treat!!

What summer fruits have you been loving lately?

  1. I always have trouble dealing with my hair in the summer! Most days I have to wear it curly or put it up in a bun. Otherwise there is no telling how frizzy it would get! That jumpsuit is really cute on you!

  2. I can see why you repeated that first outfit again so soon, it looks great on you! I really like the jumpsuit as well! :)

I think you did a great job with the indoors pics too! I really struggle taking pics indoors, I avoid it as much as possible as they always turn out so yellow, haha! Yours look great!

Hope that you had a great weekend! I had a fun night out with some Insta friends in Brisbane which was awesome :)
