Hi everyone! Here's a look at what I wore to work last week.
The temperatures were fairly mild (around 10℃) which is why I could get away with bare legs one day!
Duster Cardigan by Old Navy (old)
Align Leggings by Lululemon
Sheepskin Slippers by ? (gift from my parents)
Jersey Midi Skirt from Nordstrom Rack (old)
Larecaja Ankle Boots by Aldo
Double Disc Pendant Necklace by ? (old)
Striped Sweater by H&M (sold out in this colourway)Maternity Faux Leather Leggings by TopshopEdie Leather Loafers by J.Crew Factory (old)
My H&M and Hudson's Bay orders arrived last week and as you can see the maternity faux-leather leggings from Topshop are a keep! I have never really been into faux-leather leggings before, I know they are super popular among the blogger/influencer community but I just never really felt they were for me. I honestly can't remember what changed this year but I think because I am wearing leggings so much more, due to the pandemic as well as pregnancy, and because I am wearing them to work, I wanted a pair that was a little bit different, maybe even dressier than plain cotton? If you have been following my outfits for awhile you know that pre-pandemic I would never ever have worn leggings to work. They are not work-appropriate for a business casual environment! HOWEVER the pandemic (and pregnancy) have changed everything and my work environment is much more casual now.
Now, unfortunately the other items I ordered were returns. This skirt was maxi-length, this dress was see-through and T thought it looked like a baptismal gown (he's not wrong), and the H&M dresses (1, 2, 3) just didn't fit my pregnant body quite right. Which is totally fine! I don't actually need any more dresses I just thought those ones were cute and wanted to try them out.
I also went down a bit of a rabbit hole last week in regards to the Marc Fisher Yale booties and convinced myself I needed to buy a pair. I think it all started with the faux-leather leggings TBH - I was looking up outfit inspo for how to wear them and there were a number of examples which included these particular ankle boots. Now I have had my eye on these boots since last winter at least - Crystalin Marie wore them all the time and I trust her recs - but they are expensive and I think the shaft height is too high for me to wear with my Pixie ankle pants. I think I even went to Nordstrom last winter to try them on! Anyways, like I said, I convinced myself I needed to buy them and was able to purchase them on Poshmark for $120 and they arrived right away. Funny thing is, once I tried them on with the leggings, I didn't like how it looked! LOL. I think the whole outfit was just a little too edgy, you know what I mean? They fit great though and I love the pointed toe and sleek shaft. I am going to try and wear them next week!
Anyways, I think that's about all I have for you this week. Thank you so much for visiting!
