Who else is sick of winter??
We had snow again this week and I'm telling you I am running out of sweaters to wear! LOL
Yesterday the weather was really crazy, it was raining in the morning when I got up and by the time I went to work it was snowing.  It snowed hard all morning till about 1pm, and then by 3pm the skies had cleared and it was sunny!  So bizarre.  One thing I am happy about is that it's still light out when I walk home.  If I go to the gym after work it's dark when I finish there, but if I go home straight from work it's light out!

This week I picked up my new glasses from Bailey Nelson.  I took the bus there on my lunch break (I strategically picked a sunny day to go:)), went across the street for a donut and then up the block to Whole Foods to grab some lunch to take back to the office.  It was a perfect little lunch break and a nice switch-up from the usual (walking up the street to the same old spots!).

On Wednesday I left work a bit early so Tony and I could meet with a contractor to go over a renovation quote for our bathroom!  His quote was quite high so I don't know if we're going to go with him or not, but we need to get another quote anyways to be sure.  After our meeting we went to visit our friend at Electric Bicycle Brewing since it's right around the corner from where we were!  He's the head brewer there and his girlfriend showed up about 10 minutes after we did so it was a great little impromptu visit.

I posted a couple of videos to my Instagram Stories this week about my skincare & makeup routines, so if you're interested I've saved them to my Highlights!

A couple of people on Instagram have asked about commuting outfits & tips so I'm going to start posting more of my commuting outfits to Stories!  As for tips, I think it's different for everyone depending on where they live and how they commute, but here's what works for me:

Commuting Tips

- I walk to work and it takes me 10 - 15 minutes
- I have a pair of short rain boots by London Fog and a pair of short snow boots by Keen that I can wear with both pants and dresses or skirts (with tights)
- For extra warmth, I'll add a pair of boot socks with my snow boots
- I wear regular socks with my rain boots, or no socks if I'm wearing tights
- If it's not raining or snowing, I will probably just commute in whatever shoes I'm planning on wearing that day.  I own a couple of pairs of shoes that aren't that comfortable to walk in (my Rodney suede flats and the leopard flats I'm wearing above), so in those cases I'll wear different shoes to commute in.  If I'm wearing pants, I'll commute in my Converse sneakers.  If I'm wearing tights, I'll commute in my super old Vince Camuto Ellen flats
- I'm not a fan of the tights + sneakers look, so that's why I choose to wear a comfortable walking flat instead
- If I'm commuting in a different pair of shoes, I'll pack the shoes I'm going to wear at work in my tote bag
- For outerwear, it really depends on the weather.  Lately I've been wearing my North Face parka since it's my warmest coat and is also waterproof.  I have a variety of wool coats for winter that I'll wearing when it's not raining or snowing or below 5 degrees Celsius.  I have a waterproof rain jacket from Lululemon for Spring and Summer rainy days, and another 'light puffer' from Lulu for those rainy days in Fall and early Spring when it's a little colder.  For Spring, Summer and Fall when it's not raining, I have a jean jacket, a trench coat, a quilted bomber and short anorak.

I hope that helps & that you all have a great weekend!!

  1. I love the velvet bow you added to your ponytail! I bought some velvet ribbon in black and navy last month and cut ribbon for myself and my daughters. It's such a cute and sophisticated way of adding a little something extra to a simple ponytail!

  2. That's so cool that you walk to work! Although, I'm sure it's not fun in the rain and snow! These are all such cute outfits!

  5. I am so sick of winter and everything in my closet more or less 😂. I am trying to bring out some brighter hues like your pink sweater. I also love the dress with tights!
