Hi everyone!

It was so nice to get away last weekend and enjoy some time with my family.  We drove up Friday after work (it's about a 5 hour drive, 6 with traffic which there always is on a long weekend!).  We've started listening to podcasts on these drives, as T finds them more interesting than just music.  This time, we started Serial Season 3 and also listened to a couple of episodes of The Rewatchables (Jurassic Park, Mission Impossible, Step Brothers and Wedding Crashers).  Even though there are SO many different podcasts out there, it's hard to find ones we both like!  Serial and other true crime podcasts we usually find interesting, and The Rewatchables is proving to be pretty good, too.

On Saturday, we drove up to Penticton to visit my brother and sister in law, who were preparing to have her parents and siblings over for Thanksgiving dinner that night.  It was an absolutely gorgeous day so after the turkey was in the oven, we drove up the hill to Poplar Grove winery for lunch.  I couldn't believe we hadn't been there before, as it's a great winery that has been around for a long time.  The view was beautiful!

After lunch, we met up with my sister and her family for dinner at their house in Oliver.  We made sushi, which was super fun!  We've never done that before and even though we accidentally bought seasoned potato wedges instead of yam fries for our yam tempura rolls, they were still delicious!

Sunday my uncle took us wine tasting in his new Tesla!  I even got to drive it :) :) . We went with my cousin and her wife and it was fun to visit some wineries that we've never been to before: River Stone, Noble Ridge, See Ya Later and Nighthawk.  My parents hosted everyone (18 of us!) for turkey dinner that night and I made my signature pumpkin cheesecake for dessert.

The next day we had a quiet morning and made brunch with some of the leftovers before hitting the road to come back to Vancouver!

I don't have any exciting outfit or shopping-related news unfortunately.  Everything I wore this week is old, except maybe the Etsy necklace but I wore that last week too :)  I've just been way too busy to do any shopping.  Work is crazy busy right now and when I get home we usually have some little project around the house to work on, dinner, an episode or two of TV and then I'm ready for bed!

This weekend maybe I will have some time.  I saw Dynamite is having a sale and I've been wanting to order this sweater, plus they usually have cute tops/dresses for work.  Today we are painting the living and dining room (and maybe the guest bedroom).  Our new dining room table and bench arrived yesterday, along with a media console for TV stuff, and a new mattress!  So ya, we are still in full-on "new house" mode!

I was going to do a "morning routine" post this week but after telling you all about my Thanksgiving weekend I didn't want the post to get too lengthy.  Is that something you'd be interested in for next week?  My morning routine isn't particularly exciting, but I love reading about other people's so I thought it might be fun to share mine?!  Let me know in the comments section below!

    1. Thanks Brooke! I don't have a lot of time for podcasts other than long drives but I know some people who listen to them everyday! xo

  3. Love the mix of greys and blues you have throughout your looks. You do an excellent job of making each outfit sophisticated but also casual for the weekend.

Sounds like you had a fabulous weekend making sushi and listening to podcasts. You can never go wrong with Serial!
