Jules-in-Flats-July-Outfits

Hi everyone!  Here's a look at what I wore to work last week.

Did you all have a good holiday week?  I lot of the bloggers I follow are American, and many of them said the week felt so weird with the holiday right in the middle!  For my fellow Canadians, wasn't it nice having a long weekend and a short week?!  The best.

I decided to keep the patriotism going on Tuesday with my sleeveless cream tunic and red pants.  They just happened to be next in the rotation, so it worked out perfectly!  (All of my coloured and patterned pants are stacked in a pile on one of my closet shelves.  Each time I wear a pair, they go to the bottom of the stack, so the pair on top is next in the rotation!  This ensures I don't over-wear any particular pair, and also cuts down on the decision-making in the morning!)

The fuschia midi shirtdress is a Banana Republic Factory find.  It was such a good deal I knew I had to buy it, even if I only wore it once or twice per summer.  It's lightweight, has pockets, is professional enough for work and is my favourite colour, so what's not to love?!  lol

The weather has been cold in the morning, warming up quite a bit in the afternoons, meanwhile AC blasting inside, so I've been trying to dress in layers.  My third outfit with the cardigan is atop a very cute heart-print top; it's almost like a high-neck camisole.  It's made of poly, so it's super lightweight, and looks great with jeans too for a night out or something like that.  I don't feel super comfortable wearing it on it's own at work, but with a layer I think it's totally appropriate.

You'll notice I switched things around in the last outfit!  We're listing our place for sale (it should be up tomorrow actually!!), and realized for the pictures it would look better if our BBQ was on the other end of the balcony (where I normally stand for pics), so now I'm on the opposite side!

I didn't do any shopping this week, which I am totally shocked by.  I thought the Canada Day/July 4th deals would be too good to pass up, but I just didn't find anything I had to buy.  Although, saying that, I checked out Old Navy's new arrivals yesterday because I haven't bought anything from them for awhile, and how cute is this striped one-piece?!  I also really want this jumpsuit to pop back up in my size, and am on the lookout for a good pair of dark denim shorts.  If you have any recommendations in that area, please let me know!!

  1. You know I didn't find anything in the sales I had to have either. I think for me it's because I feel like summer is winding down, so I don't really need anymore summer clothes. I love your work style!

  4. These work outfits are nice. It's all very cute and really easy to wear. I also didn't buy anything during the 4th sales. I am not in the market for anything so I guess that's why nothing caught my eye.

  5. Love your blog. It is realistic style for women who live in the real world. :-) Can you give me any feedback about the fit on Pixie Pants? Are they true to size? Does the size vary between fabrics?

    1. Thank you! In my experience the Pixie pants fit true to size (I wear a 2 regular) and are all made from the same stretchy fabric. There are Pixie chinos which I think are 100% cotton so those may fit differently but I haven’t tried them so can’t say for sure. Hope that helps! xo
