Hi everyone!  How are you?

I am so happy it's the long weekend!  We don't have any major plans other than a "new job celebration dinner" tonight for a friend (I am probably going to wear this dress).  It's so hard going away on a long weekend from Vancouver; the highways to get out of town are just jam packed (they are nothing like the freeways in the states, or even the highways in Ontario).  There's basically one highway that can get you out of the city, and it's not big enough for all of our traffic.  So it takes way longer to get where you are going (and home again) on the long weekends when everyone is taking off.  And if you are heading West to one of the islands, you have to book a ferry in advance, it's expensive and it takes a long time, too!  So here we are, staying put in the city :)

I hate to talk about the weather, it's so cliche, but it's really smokey here from all of the wildfires that are happening in BC (you may have seen my Insta about it).  So that kind of puts a damper on any outdoor activities (like the beach!) for the weekend, however 'they say' it will clear by Sunday, so that would be nice!!  Next weekend we are going to Vancouver Island for our 3rd annual Cowichan River float and I'm sure the sun will be out by then!

Shopping-wise, I am feeling really poor right now so have halted any shopping for the time being.  My Citizens of Humanity jeans from eBay arrived in the mail this week (unexpected super fast shipping!) and are really comfy.  It's been too hot to wear jeans so I don't know when I'll actually get to test-wear them but I already took the tags off so that's that!  LOL Actually I wish they were skinnier at the ankles (anyone else have this problem?!  It's constant for me) but I think it's one of those things only I notice so I decided it wasn't that big of a deal.  Hey, at least I didn't have to get them hemmed, amiright?! #shortgirlproblems

T & I are probably going to head downtown to the mall today as I need to return my American Eagle and Hollister orders, and he wants to get some shorts from AE, so hopefully I don't get too distracted and end up buying more stuff!  Although, I could use some neutral sandals ... and there are probably good sales this weekend ... ;)

Anyways, I hope you all have a great weekend and thank you for visiting!!
