Hi everyone!!  How are you?!

Did you all have a good long weekend?  For our long weekend (last weekend, Canada Day), T and I went to Victoria (the capital of BC) for two nights.  Two of our friends live right downtown so it was the perfect place to catch all of the action (concerts, fireworks etc).  The following day (Sunday), we went for brunch at Ruby, and then met up with my cousin and her partner for a day of fishing!  They took us to Brentwood Bay and we spent the afternoon setting down prawn traps and enjoying the beautiful weather.  We ended up with a pretty good haul which T & I were expecting we'd eat that night, but they insisted we take them back to Vancouver and gave us a little cooler to take them in!  So sweet.  We stayed the night and then headed back to Vancouver the next day!

This past weekend was our annual family camping trip.  Each year, we go somewhere different and this time it was the Okanagan (where I'm from, and many of my family still live).  Since the destination is so familiar that part wasn't too exciting, but the weather was great (other than some smoke from forest fires) and the lake water was nice and refreshing.  More than that, it was great to see everyone, which is really the point!  We always try and have everyone together at Christmas and family camping; if we can make Thanksgiving and Easter work that's a bonus!  This year T & I were at Coachella during Easter and at Thanksgiving we'll be in Bali!  So any time we can see family this year is really special.

Onto this week's outfits:  this summer I am into keeping things simple.  As you can see, I'm not accessorizing much and a dress + belt, one-piece jumpsuit or ankle pants + breezy top are easy, no-fail outfit combinations.  Everything I'm wearing I've worn before, even that fuschia midi dress (isn't it pretty?!) which was a Banana Republic Factory purchase from last summer.  It's hard to wear in the winter but it was so cheap I was okay with it only being a one-season item.  I mean, it's pink!  How could I pass it up?!  LOL

Shopping-wise, I am obsessed with finding a one-piece striped bathing suit to wear this summer!  I really wanted to have one to wear for family camping, but I didn't have any luck.  Firstly, I ordered this one from J.Crew Factory but the bustline was too high (or my torso was too short!).  Then, I ordered this one from J.Crew but it was too small.  The next size up also didn't fit right.  Keep in mind I am ordering from Canada so things take at least two weeks to get here from the time you order them so this process has been going on for awhile!  I just found this one from Hollister (of all places) and it should arrive tomorrow.  Fingers crossed!

I wanted to give you an update on my FASTer Way to Fat Loss Program, if any of you are interested.  It's a bit of a long one so feel free to skip it if you're just here for the outfits!

Today is officially the last day of the 6-week program, but since we were away this weekend and I knew I would not be exercising or eating healthy, I ended the program on Friday morning with a weigh-in and measurements.  You guys - I did not lose a SINGLE pound or inch!!  To say I am disappointed would be a huge understatement.  The point of the program is not to lose weight, it is to lose fat.  Muscle weighs more than fat so when you are lifting heavy (as you are in this program), you can expect to gain muscle.  So I am not totally surprised that the scale didn't change.  But to not lose any inches either?!  Guys, 6 weeks of intermittent fasting, carb cycling, sprints/HIIT and strength training is not nothing, so for me to have done all of that work and not see ANY progress is pretty defeating.  The creator of the program, Amanda, says two things about people who don't see scale/measurement progress.  1. Are there other signs of progress (ie, more energy, better sleep, better focus, just feeling better in general) and 2. You might not have a healthy gut, so try probiotics.  For me, I am already pretty healthy and sleep great.  I didn't "feel" any different on the program except hungry during fasting, sometimes cranky because of fasting, and sometimes sluggish on low-carb days.  So there were no "non-scale" benefits of the program for me.  As for the healthy gut, I really have no idea.  I mean, how do you tell if you have a healthy gut or not?  So, I have ordered some probiotics (along with collagen, which I was skeptical about but has been recommended by a nutritionist in the program.  I am also looking into glutamine, which was also recommended.  These are more for muscle recovery I believe, and I am hoping the collagen will help my intermittent knee pain which seemed to be getting worse with all of the lunges I had to do!) and I am interested to see if they do anything!  They aren't cheap so I was pretty hesitant to put any more money into this (the 6-wk program was $200 USD), but I think it's worth a shot if it will help me get rid of my little tummy pooch and tone up those abs!  LOL

Let me know if you have any questions about this program or any of the elements I mentioned above, I would be happy to try and answer them!

Okay, that's it for now.  Thanks for reading and have a great week!
