Hi everyone!  How are you?!

Here's a look at what I wore to work last week.  Apologies for the lighting in a few photos!  The sun has been coming in at more of a direct angle now that it is rising later, and I (obviously) haven't yet adjusted my timing to avoid it.  I would say I would do it next week, but this will be my last post for about a month!  We are going to Bali next week and won't be back until mid-October.  After that I'll have a week of outfits which I'll blog about around Oct. 21st or so.  I might be able to get my Monthly Outfit Roundup for September in while we are away though ... we'll see!

This weekend we are getting ready for our trip - packing and making sure we have everything we need!  I need to figure out what I need to pack and a few wedding-related outfits. My shoes for the wedding finally arrived yesterday(!) so now I have to hem the maxi dress I'm going to wear to the correct length!  I don't have a sewing machine (although I do know how to sew - thanks Mum!) but I do have hemming tape (you use an iron) which hopefully will work.  I haven't tried the hemming tape on clothes before so fingers crossed!  Originally I was going to wear this dress from Aritzia (which I still love and think is really pretty) but then I was on the Forever 21 website looking for a few fun summery dresses for Bali and saw this dress back in stock (it's since sold out).  I had seen this dress at the beginning of summer and just thought it was so pretty, but decided I didn't really need it so didn't order it.  When it was back in stock a few weeks ago I thought I would just order it to try and it seemed perfect for Bali.  At this point I wasn't even thinking I was going to wear it to the wedding!  But then it arrived and I tried it on and it's just too pretty and perfect for a Bali wedding!  I have to wear it!  LOL  I also ordered this dress for welcome drinks and this dress for the tropical-themed stagette (bachelorette) party.

Well, that's it for now - I better get packing!  I hope you all have a great weekend and next couple of weeks!  Be sure to follow me on Insta while I'm in Bali!!!

Hi everyone!  Happy Saturday!  Here's a look at what I wore to work last week.

Nothing I'm wearing here is new, the newest thing is probably these suede scalloped flats from Town Shoes that I purchased in May.  They are so pretty but the soles are really thin so they aren't that great for walking around in; I don't see them lasting that long :(.  Despite that, I still want to buy them in the fuschia colour! LOL .

I haven't worn these faux-suede booties from Old Navy since the Spring but they are a nice way to transition a dress from summer to fall I think.  I want to buy them in the new taupe colour, and black too!  They fit TTS in my opinion and I just wear a little sockette with them, not a full thick ankle sock.

Everyone keeps asking me about Fall shopping and while I am doing a lot of looking online, I really haven't pulled the trigger on anything.  We are going to Bali in two weeks (!!) so I am just not in the Fall mindset yet.  Though I know once we get back it will really be Fall and then I'll be wishing I'd bought tights and sweaters in advance!!

I am really crushing on some of the J.Crew New Arrivals.  This houndstooth skirt and these drapey pants, this striped t-shirt, this mockneck sweater in stripe and cream, and this bell-sleeve sweater with ties are all calling my name!  Also, this velvet bow hair tie is so Gal Meets Glam and I love it! (She is everything).

I am also looking for a pair of mules that don't look stupid on me, a rain jacket (boring), a winter parka (also boring), possibly a winter coat in camel or light grey (probably this one), long sleeve blouses and sweaters, and a thick cream or ivory coloured long cardigan that is cozy but not oversized and doesn't shed!

What's on your Fall shopping list??

Hi everyone!

Here's a look at what I wore to work in the first week of September!

The weather was a bit all over the place this week; smoky and humid for most of the week and then the rain started yesterday.  We need the rain so I am grateful for that but I am not ready for summer to be over!

This week I had my Nexus interview and was approved, so I'll get my card in the mail in about 2 weeks!  I also went to the Gordon Smith and Kim Dorland exhibition openings at Equinox Gallery with a couple of colleagues and it was great!  Super busy!  But I really enjoyed the art (Gordon Smith more so) and that's the main thing.

We have absolutely zero plans for this weekend which I can't say I'm mad about.  Last night we opened a bottle of wine from our last Okanagan trip (Mur-Fi's Red from Platinum Bench), made spaghetti for dinner,  and watched The Big Sick.

Today I think I might go to hot yoga (I really wanted to go yesterday but there weren't any with good timing after work), and return the sandals I bought last weekend to The Bay.  I also need to get some new luggage for our trip to Bali (my current carry-on has a broken wheel).

Other than that, I'm not really sure!  We need to plan the second part of our Bali trip, and I could start planning our kitchen reno (!!).  I already know how I want the kitchen to look, the finishes etc. but we need to do all the measurements!

Hi everyone!  How are you?

On Friday everyone kept saying how it was the last weekend of summer but in my experience that's just not true!  (Nor do I want it to be! LOL).  T & I went to Happy Hour at Tap & Barrel in Olympic Village after work and then ordered a pizza on our way home.  It's always nice to have some leftovers to munch on over the weekend, especially since we didn't have any groceries!  And we finally booked our tickets to Bali!!  Now we just have to decide when/where we want to go while we're there (ie, plan our trip itinerary) and book accommodation!

Yesterday I woke up early (boo), edited photos for the blog (this post as well as my Monthly Outfit Roundup) and then went for a run (about 5km).  Typically I have a strict no-working out on weekends (or more specifically, Sundays) policy but I really slacked off during the week and wanted to make up for it.  I haven't run in a long time and it was hot!  The first half of the run I felt great but the second half ... not so much! LOL

T went to Whistler yesterday so I took advantage of my alone time and went shopping!!  I said last week my budget is limited so I wasn't sure if it was a good idea to go shopping ... but I figured I needed a dress and shoes to wear to the wedding in Bali and the sooner I get them, the better!  So I avoided the Aritzia Warehouse Sale and all the new fall clothes out and focused on the task at hand!  I am happy to say I was successful!  I am going to wear this dress from Aritzia and these sandals from Sam Edelman.  I bought tassel earrings (similar) from H&M but am not sure that they go with the outfit??  What jewelry do you think I should wear?

Today I am going to the beach to try and extend my summer tan just a little bit longer!

What are you all up to this long weekend?  Any fun plans?  Tell me in the comments below!

Hi everyone!  How are you?

We were in the Okanagan this weekend visiting my family, and it was also T's birthday on Sunday!  He loved watching the GOT season finale on his birthday!  LOL it was such a good episode too!

We also did a wine tour (my parents drove us all!  We went to Platinum Bench - a must-try, their bread is delicious, Bartier Bros, Fairview Cellars, Maverick, Quinta Ferreira and Noteworthy Gin Distillery) and afterwards had a delicious BBQ dinner on my parents' deck.  T, my brother and brother-in-law went to a friend's to watch the fight while the rest of us relaxed at home and had an early night.

The next day (T's birthday) we went boating on Skaha Lake with a family friend and I tried wakesurfing for the first time!  I've wakeboarded before so felt pretty familiar with the concept and it was so fun!!  I also went tubing with my niece and we had a great time.  After that we went to my brother and sister-in-law's house in Penticton for dinner, GOT and a sleepover!  They bought a new house earlier this year and then did a big reno and we hadn't seen any of it yet!  It's super cute and they did a great job on the reno.  My dad built them some garden boxes and they were overflowing!  Everything my sis-in-law made for dinner was from her garden (salad, mashed potatoes, wilted greens), except for the chicken!  I love that.

Anyways, we are back now and I'm not going to lie, I'm excited for a short work week and another long weekend coming up!  LOL . I wish I had more money in my fall shopping budget as this weekend would be a great time to do some shopping AND it's the Artizia Warehouse Sale!  Eeek!

Hi everyone!  How are you?!

Thank you all for your comments on last week's post, I'm glad I'm not alone in my Pinterest frustration!

Typically I alternate days wearing pants and dresses or skirts but this week my pants were feeling tight (I've gained weight :() so I opted for dresses and a nice loose jumpsuit instead.  The weather has been cooling down slightly so longer sleeves and closed-toe shoes are a good way to transition.

T and I don't have any plans this weekend which I love.  Yesterday we slept in and then went and played Pitch and Putt in the afternoon.  It was so nice!  We used to play at least a few times a summer but this was the first time this year for us!  We brought a friend we haven't seen for awhile and it turns out he's moving back to Toronto in November so it was nice to catch up with him as well.  Afterwards we ate dinner on the Cactus Club patio in English Bay.  Just a great summer day in Vancouver if you ask me!

Next weekend is T's birthday so we may go to the Okanagan to visit my fam or we may stay in town - we haven't decided yet!

What are you all up to this weekend?  Tell me in the comments below!

Hi everyone!  How are you?!

We got back from our camping trip to Vancouver Island (very) late on Sunday night and yesterday I was just too exhausted to write something for the blog.  I did take outfit pics before work, worked a full day, went to the gym, got home and unpacked from camping, did a couple loads of laundry and finally was ready to relax with some sushi and Game of Thrones.  Tonight we need to do more laundry, get groceries, and I need to do my nails!  LOL

The wildfire smoke has finally dissipated from Vancouver and we have blue skies again!  The weather is a bit cooler than it was before and I think mentally people are preparing for fall.  I'm not there yet, but I do feel like I have already worn most of my summer work items so the cooler weather allows me to dress a little differently (ie, layers - see striped jacket above!).

Is anyone here a big Pinterest user/fan?  I am, it is my go-to site whenever I open the computer.  I just realized that Pinterest has changed it's algorithm to a "smart feed" instead of being chronological - basically the same thing that Instagram did.  So instead of showing you all of the pins from all of the people you follow, it only shows you the ones with the highest engagement.  I came back from the weekend expecting to have tons of new pins to browse through only to realize that there were only about 20!  Super frustrating and I don't think there's anything I can do about it, except for 'engaging' with pins that I do like, in order to hopefully see more like them.  But really I just want the old Pinterest back!

Anyways, cheers to Tuesday and I hope you all have a great week!
