Hi everyone! How was your weekend?
Ours was good, I worked on Saturday while it rained like cats & dogs ... then miraculously the sun appeared at 4pm! T & I grabbed a quick bite for dinner & then planned on going to Storm Crow to play a board game, but it was super busy and we would have had to wait for an hour and a half! Uh, no thanks!
Sunday we slept in (kind of), and I decided to make some banana bread with "all of the" frozen bananas in our freezer. Smart me thought I had SO MANY bananas and that I would double the recipe. I mixed all of the ingredients, except for the bananas, only to realize that I only had enough for 1 batch! Ughhhh. I made 2 loaves anyways and surprise surprise they turned out dry :( I would have added applesauce or yogurt to account for the missing bananas if I had any, but no luck. So much for not wasting food! After the baking fiasco we went for brunch on our way to my cousin's baby party. We tried to go to Yolks, a popular food truck-turned restaurant, but again ... long line! So we got scrambled egg paninis from Terra Breads in Olympic Village instead and were on our way to North Vancouver!
Sunday night we saw Sigur Ros at Queen Elizabeth Theatre with friends. We have wanted to see them for a long time and last time they were in Vancouver the tickets sold out quickly and we were unable to find any for resale. This time there were tons for resale! Anyways, they put on a great show, we* had a few drinks and ended up in the McDonald's drive-thru on the way home! LOL
Unfortunately 2 or more glasses of wine usually makes for a disruptive sleep so I woke up early on Monday and watched Central Intelligence while enjoying my coffee. A workout (BBG 2.0 Week 16 - Leg Day!), laundry and some meal prep for the week made for a productive day!
(*I had 2 glasses of wine before the show started and was totally sober by the time I drove home. Don't drink and drive!)
