Monthly Outfit Roundup: March and April 2015

Top Row: March 4141822
Bottom Row: April 9, (outfit not blogged), 1929

Hey everyone!
Sorry I have been so bad at posting outfits this month - can you believe I've only posted one so far in May?!  Right now I'm trying to take blog photos every Saturday before work, and the rest of my outfits I do my best to document via selfies on Instagram.  So, if you'd like to see more images of what I wear on the daily- follow me there!

So, then - what have I been up to lately?
Watching: The Voice & Survivor Finales, Game of Thrones, catching up on Grey's Anatomy & Scandal when I can (aka when T's not home), Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ex Machina
Listening: Sia/Elastic heart, Chet Faker/Gold, Daughter/If You Leave, London Grammar/If You Wait, Lorde/Pure Heroine and this YouTube Playlist (by T)
Eating: Peanut butter oatmeal, mixed greens salad with strawberries, candied walnuts and feta cheese, and homemade burgers on the grill
Doing: Enjoying the beautiful weather we've been having, spending time with family over the long weekend including visiting the Extreme Air Park and getting fish & chips in Steveston, slacking on my gym routine due to a cold and then the long weekend, attempting to get back into running
Buying: a lot from Forever 21 - this crochet-paneled top, this stripe maxi dress, these embroidered espadrilles, this ribbed trapeze tank, and this crepe blazer

May 14 - Striped T-Shirt Dress and White Blazer

(Blazer by H&M (old, similar), Dress by Target (last year, similar), Shoes by H&M (recent but not online, similar), Necklace by Aldo (old, similar), Ring by Tiffany & Co., Blush by NARS in "Orgasm", Lips by CoverGirl in "Hibiscus")

 (Jacket by Forever 21)

Hi everyone!  How are you?

This is a great t-shirt dress that I bought from Target last summer.   Most of the clothes I buy are for work, or can at least work double-duty, with the exceptions of jeans (which I have far too many pairs of, just ask my Mum!).  This dress I decidedly purchased not for work.  It's a casual cotton-jersey material and has a body-conscious fit which are two things, especially combined, I try to avoid wearing to work.  Well, here I am, wearing it to work!  The blazer and pointed toe flats I think raise the profile of this humble t-shirt dress to office-appropriate - what do you think?
I remember choosing this outfit because I needed to go to a dinner right afterwards with family that was visiting from New Zealand, and wanted something that could transition easily.  For dinner I simply dropped the blazer and wore the cargo jacket shown above.  It's new, by the way, and from Forever 21.  It's super lightweight, meaning if it's cold you better layer up, but it really is a wardrobe workhorse.  Believe the hype!  I have been reaching for it as my go-to Spring jacket, only switching up to my grey trench coat when I need to be dressy, or my polka dot rain coat when the forecast looks drizzly.

I hope you have a super happy weekend!
