Hi everyone!  How was your weekend?  Did you watch the Oscars last night?
Ours was both full and relaxing.  My cousin came into town Friday night and we stayed up late chatting, then the next morning we met up my other cousin (her sister) and went wedding dress shopping!  She ended up loving (and purchasing) the second dress she tried on!  But we went to a few other stores, just to make sure :)  Then it was sushi for lunch, and shoe shopping!  We all ended up buying a pair - mine are a pair of black leather high heeled booties which were on mega sale (regular price $135, I got them for $50).  Right now I am looking forward to buying spring flats and sandals, but I knew that my future self would thank me for the bootie purchase.  They are classic, and timeless, and I found myself in a few circumstances this winter in which a dressy boot would have come in handy.  I have discovered that I am better with (meaning, I can walk more easily) a heel that keeps my foot in - whether that is a bootie or a strappy sandal.  My heel seems to always slip in a regular pump which makes me nervous, and annoyed!  So, moving forward, I am trying to purchase heels that fit that requirement and I think I will be a lot more comfortable wearing heels, when necessary.

Anyways, continuing on with the weekend!  After shoe shopping we met up with a friend for a drink and then I took one of my cousins to the ferry so she could head home to Victoria.  Sunday T & I totally vegged out on the couch, watching American Sniper and The Imitation Game, I caught up on blog reading, and then we watched the Oscars.  T won our ballot by 1 vote!  We only ended up voting on a few categories (we used the Glitter Guide print-out) because by the time we got around to printing, the Oscars had started & we didn't want any accidental spoilers.  I was super happy that The Grand Budapest Hotel won a bunch of awards - I loved that movie and really admire Wes Anderson.  I was surprised that Birdman won Best Picture!  I mean, I liked it, but usually Best Picture goes to a movie that is a bit more palatable to the wider audience - so I was thinking The Theory of Everything, Imitation Game, or Boyhood.  Were you surprised by any wins?  Any disappointments?

  3. I love the fit of these pants. I really like ankle length. I was so happy for Wes Anderson too! I actually like Moonrise Kingdom better but The Grand Budapest is still really great. I was rooting for Boyhood, but Birdman seemed to have gained traction at just the right moment so I wasn't surprised. :-)

    1. Thanks Catherine! I agree about Birdman gaining traction at the right time - Boyhood had early hype but Birdman definitely took over

  4. I loved the Theory of Everything, and agree, it was more of a crowd pleaser, but I guess the Academy don't go with a popular vote do they? Love those trews on you, such a fab colour, and you are right - a classic high heeled boot is definitely a wardrobe must-have! Thanks so much for linking to #AllAboutYou
