Honeymooning

2.26.2014

(Sweater by Banana Republic (outlet) (similar), Jeans by J Brand (via a local consignment store), Boots by Aldo (similar by Steve Madden), Toque by H&M (similar by F21), Lips Revlon Just Bitten Balm Stain in "Smitten")

I wore this outfit on Saturday to run a few errands in the snow.  Of course I added gloves, a scarf and a wool coat before I went anywhere!

Our wedding photographer, Melissa Green, emailed us a sweet slideshow of photos from our wedding and I'm super pumped to see the rest of the pics now!  They should arrive any day now and I'll be sure to post a few on here for you to see.

Currently I've been daydreaming/money planning for our honeymoon.  We took a few extra days in Mexico after all of our guests left but we didn't really consider that our honeymoon and we can't quite decide where we should go/what we should do!  Many moons ago, before we even got engaged, we dreamed of a honeymoon in the Maldives.  That would still be my ultimate dream destination, but it's quite far, and quite pricey!!  So I'm thinking we'll save that for a different special occasion when we have (or can save up) more money (10 year anniversary?!).  The other idea we had was Disneyland!  I absolutely adore Disneyland and would love to go back and experience it with T.
There are a few other irons in the fire, and need to wait and see what happens with those before we make any decisions, but it's fun to daydream!

Hi everyone!  Welcome back from the weekend!

I took these pics when I got home from the Home Show on Friday.  Boy, was that day not what I was expecting it to be!  I woke up so so tired, you know when your eyes kind of sting all day and you feel like you're constantly squinting?  That was me.  Then after leaving the Show I made a poor turning choice leaving the parkade and ended up stuck in 3 lanes of traffic merging down to one, then construction, then no parking on, near or around Robson Street (I wanted to do some window-shopping).  So I finally decided to either head home or to Winners since I've been craving some home-style window-shopping as well ... well the route I chose for Winners from downtown was sooo slow it was unbelievable.  This is why I choose to stay home most of the time, or take the bus downtown.  Traffic & parking are just the worse.

Anyways, thanks for letting me vent for a sec there!  How was your weekend?
We spent the rest of ours pretty much hibernating on the couch as we were hit with some snow on both Saturday & Sunday!

Change of Scenery

2.21.2014

(Cardigan no name, purchased from Winners (similar); Sweater by Gap (outlet); Jeans by J Brand via eBay; Shoes by Gap (this year's version here)

Hello lovelies!

Do you like the change of scenery?  I sure do!
I had to run some errands yesterday, and T had (in)conveniently left the camera in the car, so I grabbed the tripod before I left the house and set up shop on this practically empty tree-lined street.  The tripod is a mini one, and it's terrible, so setting it up on the hood of my car was a challenge, to say the least.

This weekend T is working at the BC Home & Garden show and I'm going to visit him & check out the show today.  I like the idea of home shows, but the crowds are such a turn off.  Since we're going today right when it opens, I'm hoping it'll be better.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Do you have any plans for this special day?  T &  I always like to stay in and have a bottle (or two!) of wine and cook a gourmet meal.  Tonight we are doing cheese fondue and cracking a gifted bottle of Moet and Chandon Champagne.  Hopefully there will be some chocolate, too!

I hope you all have a great weekend!

ModCloth x Polyvore Challenge

Hi everyone!  Something a little different for you on this Wednesday ....
ModCloth recently contacted me to participate in a Polyvore outfit challenge, featuring their Tango For Two Dress.   The romantic nature of this dress fits in perfectly with Valentine's Day this week.  Since the lace is navy and not black, I wanted to stay away from dark accessories and went with creams and blush tones instead.

Old Navy Fitting Room Reviews - Spring 2014 Edition

2.10.2014

Hi everyone!

Last week I spent at least an hour at the new Old Navy store downtown & thought I'd share some fitting room reviews with you in case you are eyeing any Spring purchases from there!

 Women's Denim Jackets
(size XS)
$36.94
Thoughts: Good option for a lower-priced jean jacket.  A tad boxy in the waist.  Nice medium wash colour.

Women's Hooded Jersey-Lined Raincoats
(size XS)
$49.94
Thoughts: Cute option for a lightweight Spring rain jacket, but the white ties at the waist are too jarring for me.  I suppose you could replace those with a navy (or other colour) string.  The XS fit me really well & I appreciated the bum coverage of the longer length.

 Women's Cross-Front Jersey Dresses
(size XS)
Regular price $29.94
On sale online $25.00
Thoughts: Too big all over - I think it would work if it came in Petite sizing.

Women's Cross-Front Tie-Belt Jersey Dresses
(size XS)
Regular price $32.94
On sale online $22.00
Thoughts: Too big all over - I think it would work if it came in Petite sizing.

Women's Jersey Shift Dresses
 (size XS)
$29.94
Thoughts:  I really liked this dress.  It has a textured panel running down the front and the almost neon yellow colour is perfect for Spring & Summer.  The length is too long unfortunately and I'm not sure if it would be worth hemming.  Again, would probably fit off the rack if it came in Petite sizing.

(size XS)
 $29.94
Thoughts:  Super cute and fun dress, the only fit problem is the length.

Women's Fit & Flare Jersey Dresses
(size XS)
Regular price: $29.94
On sale online: $20.00
Thoughts:  Super cute and fun dress, the only fit problem is the length.

 Women's Ponte-Knit Blazers
(stripe in XS)
 Regular price $44.94
On sale online $31.00
Thoughts: Fit was too small on me

(navy in S)
Thoughts: Fit was better but the shoulders were a bit puffy for my taste

 Women's Printed Crepe Tops
(size XS)
Regular price $32.94
On sale online $23.00
Thoughts:  It fits a little big but I think it's a nice option for a longer-length top to wear with skinny jeans or leggings.

Women's Classic Crew-Neck Sweaters
(size XS)
Regular price $27.94
On sale online $12.99
On sale in store $20.00
(peach colour not online)
Thoughts:  Fit really well, nice light option for a Spring sweater.  Passed as I probably don't need another sweater.

Women's The Rockstar Mid-Rise Super Skinny Jeans
(size 2)
Regular price $44.50
On sale online $30.50
Thoughts:  These fit like a legging and the length was too long for me.  Unfortunately this style doesn't come in Ankle length or Petite sizing.  Colour & distressing are nice.  I'm not sure why I didn't try on a size 4 to compare the fit ....

Women's Drapey Cinched Pants
(size XS)
$32.94
Thoughts:  I love these pants!  They are soft and lightweight and could totally be dressed up.  I will definitely purchase when they go on sale.

 Women's The Diva Ankle Pants
(size 2, not yet online)
$39.94
Thoughts:  These fit tight in the waist but loose in the calf

 Women's Tassel Zip Totes
$30.94 in store
$39.94 at oldnavy.com
not available on oldnavy.ca
Thoughts:  I really liked this bag!  It has a zip all along the top which is nice for privacy & security.  A SA told me that it also came in a camel colour so I thought I'd try online but the Canadian site doesn't have any available.  US shoppers are in luck though!  The quality seems quite good for a faux-leather and the tassel is a nice addition.

Sweater Dress & Toothy Necklace

2.07.2014

(Sweater dress by Joe Fresh (similar), Tights by Gap, Boots by Aldo (similar), Necklace by H&M, Nails 'Lincoln Park After Dark' by OPI)

Hey-o!  Happy Friday!

So this weekend is a long one for us in BC - Family Day is on Monday and this is only the second year it's been implemented so I totally forgot!  Obviously T and I don't have any plans - he actually has to work at a home show all weekend so he's going to take Monday off to recuperate - and I'm not sure what I'm going to get up to!  Probably some blogging (working on an Old Navy fitting room review for you!), eBay listing, Pinterest-ing & applying for jobs.

I hope you have a great one!
