Jules in Flats - September Outfits (Business Casual Workwear on a Budget)

Hi everyone, happy weekend!

I feel like this was a pretty good week - the weather was definitely better, and that always puts me in a better mood!  I made a big soup on Monday night that Tony and I had for dinner, and I brought the leftovers to work for a couple of day's worth of lunches.  I worked out 4 times, made 3 dinners at home and we have 3 new shows on TV to watch! (Survivor, The Voice and Criminal)

Jules in Flats - Lightweight Ruffle Trim Flower Print Top (Business Casual Workwear on a Budget)

Okay I'm really sorry this shirt is so wrinkled!!  I did steam it, but then I sat down with my laptop before taking photos and, well, here we are.  Sadly, this top is from last winter and is not longer available, but I liked to one from Nordstrom that has a similar vibe, if you're so inclined :)

Jules in Flats - Tie Neck Printed Swing Dress (Business Casual Workwear on a Budget)

Classic early fall outfit with two items I've had from Old Navy for years!  It was barely warm enough for bare legs on this day but I just had to go for it!  Again, both items are old and therefore sold out BUT I linked to some similar options for you below.

Jules in Flats - Wide Leg Crop Pants with Mustard Sweater (Business Casual Workwear on a Budget)

I've worn the f*ck out of this sweater since last fall and will continue to do so!  It has a cute scalloped hem which you can't see here, plus it's not available anymore, so I linked to another sweater in the same colour below.  I am loving this colour for fall!

Jules in Flats - Floral Print Midi Skirt (Business Casual Workwear on a Budget)

Ugh - not sure how I feel about this outfit.  I ended up doing a front tuck with the sweater once I got to work, but I'm not sure if it improved the look or not.

I am loving my new hair cut!  I think the most dramatic difference can be seen when I wear my hair straight, and I'm really happy with it.  I see Erin at Glossalon if you're local and looking for someone new!

Also, can we talk about how next week is OCTOBER ?!!  Like, how did that happen?  Sorry to be a walking cliche but I am over here just stunned.  Next weekend I'll be posting my Monthly Outfit Roundup for September but not next week's outfits, as we will be in the Okanagan celebrating my sister's 40th birthday!!  Her actual birthday is Wednesday, but she's having a big party on Saturday and I'm excited to see the fam and her friends!  If you have any good podcast recommendations for our drive please let me know in the comments!  Right now we are liking The Rewatchables and in the past we've listened to Serial and some other true crime ones.

My H&M order arrived and I was able to try everything on, here's what I'm keeping and returning:

Returning.  Way too big and too long!  I ordered a 6.

Returning!  Slightly too big and too long.  I ordered a 6.

I debated this one but ultimately decided to return.  It was slightly tight/clingy and I don't really like mocknecks.  I ordered a S.

Big YES to this one!  I got the green pattern in a size 6 and it fits great.  Love that the colour is a little bit different to anything else I have.

This is actually still up for debate.  I need to steam it and try it on with a couple of different tops.  I ordered a 6.

Yes yes yes.  SO cute, kinda stretchy, perfect length.  I ordered a size 6.

Yes!  Same feelings as the plaid skirt.  I actually wanted this skirt last year and it sold out while I hummed and hawed about it, so I'm glad I got it this year and that I like it!

What is everyone up to this weekend?  Once again, no plans over here, just some things that need to be done around the house.  Tony's playing board games tonight, we need to do a f*ckload of laundry, he's been putting together a bookcase for his comic books and re-arranging his board game closet, and I don't know what else!

I hope you have a great one wherever you are, and thank you so much for visiting!

xo JULES
