Good morning friends! Happy Weekend!
I am up super early for a Saturday, I had a great sleep last night but woke up at 7:30! WTF! Normally I would make a concerted effort to go back to sleep, but with T away I was just not as motivated to stay in bed so here we are :\
Last night I went to the member's opening of the Takashi Murakami exhibit at the Vancouver Art Gallery with friends from work and it was incredible! I highly recommend you check out his work and the show if you are local! The opening didn't start until 8 so rather than go home after work I went shopping downtown!
I had been doing a lot of online browsing and wanted to check out some things in-store. Namely, new skinny ankle jeans that are actually ankle length on me, tight at the ankle, medium to high rise, and super stretchy. I have had good luck with the Old Navy Rockstar Jeans in the past, and I like that they are available in a "short" length, but my sizes were sold out online so I needed to do some in-store investigating. Merrick also posted recently about some of her favourite jeans and she always looks great so I wanted to try her recommendations - American Eagle and Abercrombie! I didn't make it to Abercrombie, but I did end up buying these Rockstars and these AE jeans. Hopefully I bought the right size and they don't stretch out too much!
I also wanted to check out this top, this sweatshirt and this necklace from H&M. Unfortunately they didn't have the top (isn't it adorable?!) or the necklace, but I got the sweatshirt! It's so cute and nice and soft on the inside, I think I am going to wear it today with one of my new pairs of jeans.
At Old Navy I also got this cardigan which is thicker and warmer and I think will be a great topper for Spring. It doesn't fit too oversized which is important to me as a smaller person as sometimes that can look a little overwhelming. I also got another sweatshirt from Old Navy! Argh! I definitely didn't need another one, but it was so cute and soft and this was before I went to H&M and I didn't know if I was going to like that one! LOL!
I also stopped at Sephora for my free birthday gift (yay!), and picked up these fun earrings from Aldo.
If you saw my InstaStories on Thursday night, I showed a couple of recent purchases including this gingham dress, a floral dress from Winners, and these loafer mules. I love the gingham print but am going to return the dress as it's not as versatile as I want it to be. I really try and only buy things that I LOVE, and I was feeling lukewarm about the dress. I wasn't sure about the 1. State floral dress either, but most people voted to keep it and I know that if I do I will wear it a lot and for a long time. I still have a week to decide, but I am leaning towards keeping it. And the loafer mules are definite keepers, I mean they are called the Jules loafer so how can I not?! LOL On that note, this swimsuit is also named Jules ... should I buy it too?!
Today I am going to Hot Yoga, the blood donor clinic, the countertop store, grocery shopping and possibly Ikea. It's going to be a busy one!
What do you guys have planned for the weekend? Tell me in the comments below!
As always, thank you for reading!
