Sweater by Joe Fresh (old, similar)
Skirt by J.Crew (old, similar)
Hi everyone! I'm back from Toronto and would you believe it's been colder here than in TO?! Unheard of, I tell you! LOL But in all seriousness, we did return to snow on the ground (typically when it snows in Vancouver, it doesn't stick), sub-zero temperatures and warnings of a 'major snowfall' on Thursday night. The 'major snowfall' didn't happen, although it did snow. Now that the weekend is here things are warming up and snow has turned to rain. I pulled out my thicker sweaters to combat the cold and can assure you I did not walk to work in the above footwear! I have a pair of raspberry-coloured Hunter rainboots (see here) that I can wear with boot socks for the short walk, however I do not recommend wearing Hunters for an extended period in snow - they are just not warm enough! I have heard of these liners, which look promising and I am tempted to try them. On the other hand, last year I was won over by duck boots and am now seriously contemplating an insulated pair! If you have any recommendations, please let me know! I am leaning towards these ones by Sperry, or these ones by Sperry for J.Crew. I'm not impressed by the non-insulated review comment on the J.Crew ones though, and am curious if all Sperry boots are not insulated in the foot area?!
This weekend we purchased some replacement light strings for our previously pre-lit Christmas tree, and put the decorations on. Unfortunately I accidentally bought LED bulbs, which aren't as warm in appearance as incandescent bulbs, so the tree doesn't quite have the same 'homey' vibe as I like ... but my desire to just have the tree 'done' outweighed my dislike for the LED bulbs! Honestly, it's not a big deal. It's festive in here, which is the whole idea!
Tomorrow is our office Christmas party - Monday is not a great night, I know! But the food is always delicious and the Yankee Swap/White Elephant gift exchange is very entertaining! It's not super dressy, so I am planning on wearing these jeans, these shoes, and a black lace bell-sleeved top from H&M that I can't find online - but this one is similar. If I'm feeling ambitious (ie, go buy some ribbon), I'd like to do my hair like this, or in a lower pony like this, but with a bow. So, we'll see! What holiday parties do you have coming up?
I hope you all have a wonderful week!
