Hey everyone!  I hope you are all having a great September so far! Here are a few looks from what I wore to work last week.  I'm seeing a lot of navy, black and red!  It seemed really rainy and cold last week so I wore pants more than usual; I am just not ready for tights yet!

I am wearing a couple of new things here - one, that Dynamite burgundy blouse that I really really like.  I ordered it online, it's $35 and I think I got 15% off for signing up for their newsletter.  The v-neck is flattering, and it drapes well.  It's not too long or short and I like the roll-tab sleeves.  A big winner for me is the no patch pockets on the chest; I find those very distracting, particularly in white blouses.  I ordered the white version of this blouse too, it's originally what caught my eye on their site!

The navy pants are new as well, although they are Old Navy's Pixie Pants which almost all of my dress pants are now.  They are definitely longer than that used to be, which is fine by me.  They are also quite tight in the bum/thighs, perhaps a little too much for some of you, but I do find they stretch and I almost always wear a longer top which covers at least half of my bum.

The necklace I'm wearing in the bottom left pic is new too, it's from H&M and was totally an impulse buy.  I really like it though, it's a marble pattern with gold that I think is really cute and goes with a lot of different things.  I have been wearing it non-stop over the weekend with a casual striped sweater and skinny jeans.

I hope you like the site re-design as well!  And I apologize if you have any problems accessing the site, I am still working out a few bugs and need to re-format a lot of my older posts.  I did the re-design myself, kind of on a whim last weekend, so it wasn't really thought out and I don't know what I'm doing, so please bear with me!

What I Wore: September Week Two

9.13.2015

Hi everyone!  I hope you all had a great weekend!
Here are a few outfits I wore to work last week:

(Sweater by H&M (old, similar by Joe Fresh), Skirt by Forever 21 (old, similar by J.Crew Factory), Boots by Aldo (old, similar by Madden Girl), Necklace by Joe Fresh (gifted, similar from Macy's, H&M))

This sweater from H&M actually has a speckled pattern and a sheer back.  I couldn't find anything like it, but I linked to a nice cream sweater from Joe Fresh.  The blush pink pleated skirt is a favourite of mine, it looks even cuter when you wear it higher on the waist so that it's shorter, but for work I felt this length was appropriate :)  It's from Forever 21 and not on their site anymore but J.Crew Factory has a really similar one on sale for $46!

(Top by Old Navy (old, tank with similar print, similar by LOFT), Pants by H&M (old, similar by Old Navy), Necklace by H&M (old, similar by Forever 21), Flats by H&M (old, similar by Franco Sarto))

This top has tiny anchors all over it!  Can you seem them?  It's from Old Navy about a year ago, but LOFT has a pretty similar one if you're interested.

(Dress by Old Navy (old, similar by Gap), Blazer by Forever 21 (similar), Belt by H&M (old, similar by Dorothy Perkins), Necklace by either H&M or Forever 21 (old, similar by Le Chateau), Flats by Aldo (old, similar by Le Chateau))

This dress is one of the "Poplin Cami" dresses Old Navy was selling in the summer.  I also have it in magenta and this bird print.  It's a lightweight cotton/rayon blend and this pattern is lined on the bottom which is a nice touch.  Pretty sure it was under $20 and you can never have too many stripes in your closet if you ask me (see here, here, here).

(Dress by Wilfred (from Aritzia), Sandals "Ginger" by Sam Edelman (purchased at Nordstrom Rack, old, similar by Mojo Moxi), Necklace by Banana Republic Factory (similar by Saks Off 5th))

This is the Sabine dress by Wilfred, a brand that sells at Aritzia.  Every season Wilfred puts out this dress in different colours, and I've been coveting one for some years now.  At $165, it's out of my price range.  BUT I purchased this one on sale this summer to wear to my cousin's wedding, knowing that I would be able to wear it to work as well.  I am in love!!

Hi everyone!  Here are a couple of outfits from last week.  We had some construction going on at our apartment and a house guest this week, so I was only able two take pics on two days.
It's been cold here, it took all my strength to wear that miniskirt on Friday!  Rest assured I also had on my new blanket scarf from Zara which covered my legs while I sat at my desk.

I hope you are all having a great Labour Day weekend!  We are just chilling at home, catching up on projects and enjoying each other's company.  Yesterday I went to the Aritzia warehouse sale, it was my first time in years!  Normally we go away this weekend and end up missing it.  Not this time!  I have to say, although I came away with three great pieces, it was total chaos in there!  Literally clothes everywhere.  On racks, on the floor, in boxes, on tables.  No organization whatsoever.  I would like to go again first thing in the morning to see if it is organized at all.

I am not really doing any Labour Day weekend shopping, other than the aforementioned warehouse sale.  Last week I ordered this, this and this from Dynamite and am excited to see them in person this week.  Blouses are on my radar for fall, as was a non-cotton black shirtdress, so I hope they work out.  Old Navy is having a major sale but I am trying to wait until Wednesday when I can use my SuperCash.  I thought it started on Friday the 4th but I was wrong!!  Also, I kinda want to do some shopping in-store; somethings are just better seen in person!  Especially those drapey tops I was telling you about last time.  Plus, they might have more sizes.  T is going to my cousin's Stag next weekend so that might be a good time for me to sneak out and hit up some stores! :)

These are currently in my shopping cart.  I know the style has been popular for the last two summers but will it last through 2016 as well?  Hard to say; I don't want to look dated by next July.  But, I was paying attention this summer to which sandals I really wore, what worked and what didn't, and what gaps need to be filled for next year.  Since it is the end of the season now, it's a good time to stock up, and I can tell you I will be purging a lot of the sandals that I own and paring down to a few, good-quality basics.
