Well, ah, ahem, please excuse the wrinkly top!  Eek!
I haven't worn this skirt in a long time, so I figured now was a good as time as any to pull it out of the closet and see what I could pair it with!  It's been awhile since I painted my nails, so when I did this past weekend, with Essie's "Cute as a Button", I think it inspired my look today!
Has anyone ever lengthened the back slit of a pencil skirt?  This one is just a tiny bit too tight at the knees, you know what I mean?  Like walking up the stairs is a bit difficult, and climbing on the stool at work to unlock the door is impossible, lol!
Also - a white blazer - an excellent way to Spring-ify any look, even one anchored in black :)

Hi everyone!  How was your weekend?  Did you watch the Oscars last night?
Ours was both full and relaxing.  My cousin came into town Friday night and we stayed up late chatting, then the next morning we met up my other cousin (her sister) and went wedding dress shopping!  She ended up loving (and purchasing) the second dress she tried on!  But we went to a few other stores, just to make sure :)  Then it was sushi for lunch, and shoe shopping!  We all ended up buying a pair - mine are a pair of black leather high heeled booties which were on mega sale (regular price $135, I got them for $50).  Right now I am looking forward to buying spring flats and sandals, but I knew that my future self would thank me for the bootie purchase.  They are classic, and timeless, and I found myself in a few circumstances this winter in which a dressy boot would have come in handy.  I have discovered that I am better with (meaning, I can walk more easily) a heel that keeps my foot in - whether that is a bootie or a strappy sandal.  My heel seems to always slip in a regular pump which makes me nervous, and annoyed!  So, moving forward, I am trying to purchase heels that fit that requirement and I think I will be a lot more comfortable wearing heels, when necessary.

Anyways, continuing on with the weekend!  After shoe shopping we met up with a friend for a drink and then I took one of my cousins to the ferry so she could head home to Victoria.  Sunday T & I totally vegged out on the couch, watching American Sniper and The Imitation Game, I caught up on blog reading, and then we watched the Oscars.  T won our ballot by 1 vote!  We only ended up voting on a few categories (we used the Glitter Guide print-out) because by the time we got around to printing, the Oscars had started & we didn't want any accidental spoilers.  I was super happy that The Grand Budapest Hotel won a bunch of awards - I loved that movie and really admire Wes Anderson.  I was surprised that Birdman won Best Picture!  I mean, I liked it, but usually Best Picture goes to a movie that is a bit more palatable to the wider audience - so I was thinking The Theory of Everything, Imitation Game, or Boyhood.  Were you surprised by any wins?  Any disappointments?

Hey everyone, happy Friday!

I had a hard time putting this outfit together, for some reason.  I kept wanting to pair the dress with bright colours, but was pleasantly surprised when I found this blush pink belt at the back of my belt rack.  All of sudden it just all clicked!

Are you all excited for the weekend?  I am!  My cousin is getting married this summer and we are going dress shopping tomorrow!

I hope you all have a great one!

Hey everyone!  This is what I wore to work on Valentine's Day ... apropos, no?  I've always love dressing festively on holidays and V-Day is no exception.  I've noticed that the majority of adults, however, do not share my sentiment ... am I being juvenile here?  Probably if you are reading this, you have a blog, and probably shared a themed V-Day outfit last week so you are going to say no, but I'm curious what non-bloggers think?  My co-worker thought it was cute that I dressed for the holiday; I think she hadn't even considered doing it herself.  Maybe because us bloggers are constantly thinking about what to wear that it's only natural for us to pair holidays with holiday outfits ... ya, I'm gonna go with that!

Happy Wednesday!

Hi everyone!  I meant to get this post up on Friday, but, well, you know, life happened.  I hope you all had a great Valentine's Day & weekend!  Did you get up to anything exciting? On Friday night T had a work event in the 'burbs so I went with him to do some shopping at a local mall.  I only ended up getting this nightie, but it was nice to look at clothes in-store and try a few things on.  Oh, and these booties from Old Navy.  You may have seen my Instagram about them - they really are fantastic.  Soft, faux suede.  Not-too-high 3" block heel.  Nice, neutral colour.  Comfortable!  I didn't buy them because the weather won't be good enough to wear them for at least another month and I know I can order them online between now and then.  Or so I thought!  They are sold out in a lot of sizes so I can only hope they restock!  The other reason I didn't buy them right away is because whenever I buy heels, even if they are comfortable, and I think I'll wear them all the time ... I don't!  Soooo, we'll see what happens!

Hi everyone!  Here's a closer look at the H&M cardigan I can't stop talking about.  I really love it ... other than ... it'a little boxy.  But I can totally deal with that.  Other than the cardigan though, everything in this outfit is at least a year old - the top, necklace and boots have probably been in my closet for two years!

T & I are on a mission to see all movies with Best Oscar Actress/Actor nominees in them, including Supporting roles, as well as all of the Best Movie nominees, before the Oscars air on Feb. 22.  Last year we did a fun ballot and were actually tied until the last vote of the evening - Best Movie.  T picked 12 Years a Slave, which was the winner, and I picked Captain Phillips :(.  It's hard to know sometimes what you think the Academy will pick, versus what you would pick.  I love watching awards shows and T, well, doesn't.  But adding a little competition to anything will get him intrigued!  On the weekend we watched Birdman and Whiplash, both of which are nominated multiple times.

What about you, are you watching the Oscars this year?

Hi everyone!  How was your weekend?  Did you watch the Grammys?  We watched half of it last night and I'm catching up on the second half this morning while writing this post!  I mentioned this in my last post, but today is a holiday in BC, Family Day, so T and I are enjoying an extra day off with no plans in sight.  There is virtually no food in the house so brunch is probably in order, stat!
We did manage to go shopping yesterday, and I'm so happy I have new runners that actually fit!  I purchased these and have high hopes for them.  I also got the H&M cardigan that I told you about (very similar to this one), and we picked up a new bath mat and hallway bench at Target (neither of which I can find online, and which was a picked-over zoo, btw - did you know that Target Canada is closing all of its stores?  So sad.)
