October Outfits: Week Five (Part One)

10.27.2014

Hi everyone!  How was your weekend?

jules in flats: october - personal style blog - business casual workwear on a budget
(Left: Sweater by Gap (old, similar), Pants by Old Navy, Boots and Necklace by Aldo (both old, similar boots, similar necklace) // Right: Sweater by Banana Republic Factory (old, similar), Skirt by Forever 21 (old, similar), Tights by Gap, Booties by Old Navy (sold out, similar))

Mine was great!  I went shopping on Saturday after work and really powered through a marathon session at Forever 21.  I had three items to return (this faux-fur vest, this crochet/lace top, and this skirt) and they were running an in-store promo for 30% of dresses ... and you all know how much I love their dresses!  I think I tried on at least 20 dresses, as well as some lace tops and black skirts (also on my shopping list).  I came away with one dress, which will be great for the holidays (I don't see it online, this one is similar), and bunch of necklaces (1, 23, 4).  I am disappointed that so many of the dresses didn't work out, but that's just the way it goes with Forever 21 sometimes.  H&M too, I find I bring tons of stuff into the dressing room and often only a few end up working.  I'll share more of what I purchased later in the week.

Sunday felt super domestic as I made chocolate chip zucchini bread and curried zucchini soup with a huge zucchini from my sister's garden, acquired at Thanksgiving.  Yes, I have had a zucchini since then and yes it was still good!  The weather was finally nice (Saturday was horrendous and shopping in the rain was not fun) but T & I decided to lay low and spend the day at home.

Here's to a great week ahead!
