Hair Troubles

Hello hello!  Happy Friday!
I went on a serious Shoppers Drug Mart shopping spree early last week and purchased some new hairspray and dry shampoo.  Normally I don't use dry shampoo, I think I just haven't found one that I really like.  This time I bought Dove, and I don't know if I was spraying too much, or too close to my roots, but my hair was soooo white & it wouldn't come out!  It made me want to wash my hair even more than when I put it in!  To make matters worse, I also tried out a new hairspray (again, I haven't found one that I love - I know a lot of people swear by L'oreal Elnett but I think it smells terrible), this time by Aussie.  Truthfully, it was super cheap for a huge can and that's why I bought it.  But it also smells terrible!  If you have any recommendations for dry shampoo or hairspray I'd love to hear them!  Have a fantastic weekend!

Hi guys!

Sorry I missed Monday's post ... you wouldn't believe how hungover I was!  I know, I know, who goes out on a Sunday?  Well, this gal did, in honour of a friend's birthday.  We went for a pretty luxurious dinner at Chambar, followed by drinks at the new Chewies Coal Harbour, followed by more drinks at Granville Room, then dancing at The Roxy!  All in all, a pretty great night.
Anyways, let's talk about this outfit, shall we?  This sweater was a purchase from our recent Seattle trip.  J.Crew Factory was having a 40% off everything sale, so I picked up two sweaters, including this waffle-knit number.  The other one is a camel colour with navy stripes & you'll be seeing an outfit with that one next week.  I also picked up these black leather ballet flats from the Vince Camuto Outlet store.  They were $42.  Pretty good deal for real leather and a rubber sole!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of my American friends & readers!

Good Morning!
Sorry I missed you on Wednesday, T & I decided to take a little road trip to the US to try and find him a suit for the wedding.  We were unsuccessful, but had a good time nonetheless.  We stayed with some friends for the night, and played Cards Against Humanity for the first time.  Have you guys heard of it?  Thoughts?  We went through the entire box!  It was super fun & T kicked everyone's butts.  Happy Weekend, Y'all!

Weekend Recap

Hi all!  How was your weekend?
Mine was good, pretty lazy except for Saturday night when I volunteered for a local charity art auction, Art for Life.  This is an outfit from last week when the weather was nice & T and I popped out to do some errands (me - grocery shopping, him - haircut).  Friday we went to Ikea and enjoyed browsing around, and picked up a few things (basket for storing slippers, scarf hanger, small ironing board, herb grinder).  Then we went to Bellis Fair in Bellingham so T could find a suit for the wedding, which ended up being a total bust, but it was kind of a fun little road trip.  I picked up this cute little skirt and headband from Forever 21 in the States and that's it!

Think Pink

I really wanted to wear pink on Tuesday, but despite it being my favourite colour, I don't have many pink items in my closet!  A sweater was what I was really wanting, but this cardigan does the job pretty well.  I went downtown to pick up my a sparkly belt for my wedding, and to pick up a birthday present for a friend.  J.Crew was having an awesome sale (extra 40% off all sale items) and this sweater looked pretty perfect ... but alas, not available in my size.  I'd say it's all for the best though, as I'm really trying not to do anymore shopping for myself!

Have a great weekend, friends!

Hello lovelies!

Sorry I have been m.i.a. for the past week!  Last week was bad for outfit pics, and then Monday was a holiday.  Actually I could have posted this outfit on Monday, but I forgot I had taken the pics!  I guess that's what a full weekend of Stagette partying will do to you!

Recent Shopping Review: Old Navy

11.06.2013

(Jacket by Le Chateau, Sweater by Off the Wall, Jeans by 7 for all Mankind, Boots by Old Navy, Purse by Coach, Earrings by Joe Fresh, Necklace by F21)

I don't think I've told y'all about my new booties!
They're from Old Navy, $39.94 regular price and I got mine for 30% off.  I purchased my regular size, 6, and they fit perfectly with a pair of medium-weight ankle socks on.
Unfortunately, Old Navy Canada doesn't have customer reviews on it's website, so I always check their US site to see how something fits/what people are saying about it.  I was really on the fence about whether or not ankle boots would work on me, but my desire for a cold-weather shoe that keeps my feet warm, plus the price point and fun studs, made me take the plunge.  I'm so glad I did!  I've been wearing them all.the.time.  The heel isn't too high & they are really comfortable.

Side note: for some reason, boots aren't showing up on Oldnavy.ca under the "Shoes & Accessories" sidebar, but if you do a search for "boots", all of their options come up.  There are some other colours & styles of ankle boots available.

In addition to these booties, I also ordered this Quilted Vest in an olive green colour ON is calling Forest Floor.  I have been anti-puffer vest for many years now, predominately because I didn't (don't?) understand why you would want to add bulk to only your torso.  But, I've been seeing some really cute ones around, and since I'm not working, my style has been veering towards the more casual.  For example, I could wear a puffer vest over my hoodie on the way to the gym now that it's getting a little too chilly for just a hoodie.  Anyways, it came in the mail and I tried it on but it was too boxy for me (I purchased an XS, the smallest available).  So back it went :(

Nonsensical

11.04.2013

(Jacket by Le Chateau, Sweater by Gap, Jeans by 7 for all Mankind, Boots by Aldo, Purse by Coach, Scarf by H&M)

Hi everyone!  Welcome to a new week - and Happy November!

How was your weekend?  Ours was as low-key as expected, with a fun early pub dinner & band-watching on Saturday afternoon with some friends.

This is what I wore last Thursday, Halloween.  I figured a bright orange sweater had to count for something, right?  The reason for the title of this post is because this outfit makes no sense at all.  Brown leather jacket + black leather boots + grey scarf + orange sweater + nude purse ?!?!  It doesn't match, it doesn't go together, but whatever, it's not terrible & it's what I really wore (and felt like wearing) that day.
