Surprised?!  Me too!  LOL

I am 18 weeks pregnant, so about 4 months along.  We found out at the beginning of September and have been slowly processing it.  Once I began to show, it started to become much more real!  That might sound strange but so far pregnancy has been a very surreal experience for me.  It's not something I ever imagined I would go through and to be honest I keep expecting something to go wrong.  It's so common for that to happen, I think I've been holding on to that to almost not deal with the realness of it.  Does that make sense?  Anyways, we are at the stage now where the chances of something going wrong are lower - the next big step is the anatomy scan in a couple of weeks which will tell us if all of the baby's organs are in the right places.

I don't plan on turning this blog into a motherhood or lifestyle blog, but you never know!  I will be off work for an entire year (if not slightly longer) which means no work outfits to share ... so we'll just see what happens and what I feel inspired to share.  I always love sharing my outfits with you, so in all likelihood I'll continue with that and it will be mostly casual outfits as my body changes postpartum.  Thank you for sticking around during this transition period for me!

Now that I'm not trying to hide my pregnancy, I'm interested in wearing different types of clothes and not just swing dresses and flowy tops!  I liked the idea of knit midi dresses and ordered a few from Old Navy and Gap to try on.  I like this sort of brown/rust coloured one from Old Navy, and kept this black square neck one and this forest green one from Gap.  I did a try-on on Stories and saved it to my "Try-Ons 2" highlight if you're interested.

My pants haven't fit for awhile, so I bought this Bellaband which has been working well.  I also bought this Bellyband, but I don't like it and should have just returned it (I threw out the packaging).

I ordered some maternity tights from Amazon pretty early on, as normal tights are just SO restricting even on a non-pregnant body I knew they wouldn't work at all during pregnancy.  I hate these ones though.  They have about 6 extra inches of length so the fabric is always pooling around my ankles.  I tried to find maternity tights for petites, but didn't have any luck.  I actually accidently ordered more of the same tights from the Motherhood Maternity online store - doh!  I forgot the Amazon ones were the same brand 😕

My v-neck sweaters from Gap finally arrived and I am happy with the Beet Purple, Green Olive and Black "True Soft" sweaters, they are the perfect tunic length to wear with leggings.  I didn't like the Red V-Neck sweater though, the hem is higher in the front which is no bueno for me + leggings.  If you weren't pregnant and planned on wearing it with jeans I would say go for it!

Anyways, that's about all I have for this week!  Thank you so much for reading.

  1. Congratulations on your pregnancy! What an exciting and scary time. Good luck finding maternity tights! I bought probably 15 when I was pregnant and I hated them all! They were all still so tight around my belly and gave me massive heartburn.
