January Outfits Week Four

Jules in Flats - January Outfits Week Four (Business Casual Winter Workwear on a Budget)

Jules in Flats - January Outfits Week Four (Business Casual Winter Workwear on a Budget)

Hi everyone!  Thank goodness it's February, amiright??  I kept seeing all these memes this month that January has felt like the longest month ever and while I feel that, I've also had longer!

Jules in Flats - Gap Bobble Stitch Pullover Sweater (Business Casual Winter Workwear on a Budget)

I don't think I've worn this sweater on the blog yet!  This is one of the sweaters I kept from my Gap haul back in December.  I definitely wore it over the holidays and am glad I found it again for work!  It's super soft and cozy, and I love the fun bobble stitch pattern and exaggerated sleeve.

Jules in Flats - Tie Neck Mini Dress (Business Casual Winter Workwear on a Budget)

We were having a free appraisal day at work so I wanted to make sure I looked professional (more than usual anyways!) and this dress from Little Moon by Aritzia fit the bill.  If you're into this colourway/print, I found a super similar one at H&M!

Jules in Flats - Wilfred New Button Front Blouse (Business Casual Winter Workwear on a Budget)

Okay so I ordered a bunch of stuff from Aritzia because they are having a massive sale (and not one where things are only $5 off) and this very cute daisy print top by Wilfred was included in the order.  It's called the New Button Front Blouse and I'm wearing a size 2.  Originally $98, I got it for $25!  Now the catch is that it was final sale and I ordered online so couldn't try it on.  It fits really well, the only thing I noticed is that it's quite low cut and somehow manages to become even more low as the day goes on.  So I've taken it to my tailor to have the shoulders brought up, which should fix the issue.  Fingers crossed!

Jules in Flats - Striped Sweater with Pleated Mini Skirt (Business Casual Winter Workwear on a Budget)

I have definitely worn this exact outfit before and I'm okay with that!  When I first started this blog I would kind of try not to pair the exact same items together, but I don't mind so much now!  This was a very comfortable and cute outfit IMO.

Last weekend at Harrison Hot Springs was delightful.  The hot pools were quite crowded, I think because the public pool in town was closed for renovations, so they were letting the public into the resort pool.  Not a huge deal but it was noticeably busy.

This weekend we don't have any plans!  I am donating blood later today and that's really it.  The blood donor clinic is near the grocery store so I could definitely pick up some food for the weekend, and I had thought that we could go tile shopping but T seems over it soooo 🤷

Here's what else we've been up to!

Watching:

The Talented Mr. Ripley.  We listened to The Rewatchables podcast episode about this movie on our little road trip last weekend so of course we had to re-watch.  Sadly, it didn't hold up for me!  I remember liking it when I first saw it, and it's not that I didn't like it this time around, it just fell a little flat.  All of the things that The Rewatchables liked about it I kind of just thought were OK.  Honestly the best part of that movie is Gwyneth & her style.

Escape at Dannemora.  We've only watched the first episode of this and I need to pay attention more.  I was joking to T that we need to put on the subtitles because they whisper a lot and I feel like I am missing important stuff!

The Good Place Season 4.  The series finale was this week so naturally we are just getting caught up on the final season now.

The Grammys.  Some really good performances on here!  Demi Lovato, Camilla Cabello and Billie Eilish's were the most moving IMO.  Oh, and Lizzo totally killed the opening!!

Buying:

A bunch of tops from the Aritzia sale!  The New Button Front Blouse by Wilfred in daisy print (worn above) and a rusty orange colour; the Murphy Blouse by Babaton in warm chartreuse (looks like it's sold out now); the Bentley Blouse by Babaton in black; the Blayze T-Shirt by Wilfred in wild pink; and the Wedgie Icon jeans by Levi's in light denim.  Like I said above, everything was final sale so no returns or exchanges and I ordered online so I had to guess on fit.  The only thing that didn't work are the jeans from Levi's which sucks but I think I can resell them.  I should have listened to the reviews!

A few things from Zara: Dotted Mesh Collar Sweater in grey; Scallop Trim Poplin Shirt in white (to layer under sweaters); Floral Knit Sweater in ecru; Blazer with Rolled up Sleeves in black.  This blazer is the whole reason I was even on the Zara site.  Emily Schuman from Cupcakes and Cashmere did a black blazer try-on on IGTV and this one from Zara was the winner.  She influenced me to get it!

Work pants from J.Crew.  J.Crew had a 30% off sale and if you remember from this post I've been wanting to try their Cameron Slim Crop Pant and Peyton High Rise Wide Leg Pant in a Petite size, so I figured this sale was better than nothing to give them a shot!

Eating:

Swiss Chalet.  We ate here twice last week!  Let me explain - I think this is an Ontario thing because T loves it and many of his friends from Ontario love it too.  When I went to school in ON it was definitely a thing.  We used to get delivery all the time but since the location in Kits shut down we haven't been able to because the Burnaby location won't deliver to us.  So anyways we went there for a late lunch last weekend on our way back from Harrison, and then during the week we were tile shopping a few blocks from the Burnaby location so figured we might as well get takeout for dinner!  LOL

Chicken Schniztel + veggies.  Yup, same as 2 weeks ago!  I told you it was one of our staple dinners!

Meatloaf + Roasted Potatoes + Gravy + Bread.  This was a very beige dinner LOL.  We also had blueberry pie + whipped cream from a can for dessert.  It was an indulgent Thursday night!

Whole Foods Kickstarter Smoothie + Kamut Bar + Mr. Noodle Chicken Soup.  I had this smoothie + some curried chicken salad from WF last week after hot yoga and it was such a great combo that I wanted to replicate it this week.  They didn't have any chicken salad so I grabbed a 3-pack of Kamut bars (which I also grabbed last week and have been great to snack on) instead.  I dunno what it was but I just wasn't feeling satisfied, so I made myself a bowl of Mr. Noodle at 9pm last night.  And then I ate two chocolate chip oatmeal cookies at 11pm just to get rid of the cookie dough in our freezer.  It was kind of sad I'm not going to lie but I'm trying not to feel guilty about it.  Foods aren't good or bad.  They just are what they are!!

Working Out:

Bodypump, a treadmill workout that left me totally dead (even though I took multiple breaks not called for in the workout & basically walked for an entire set), a short ab workout, Kondi Cals, hot yoga.

What have you all been up to? Let me know in the comments below!

I hope you have a great weekend and thank you so much for visiting!
