Jules in Flats - February Outfits Week 2 (Business Casual Winter Workwear on a Budget)

Happy belated Valentine's Day & I hope you get to enjoy a long weekend this weekend!

T & I usually make a fancy dinner at home for Valentine's Day, and this year it was fancy-ish but also super easy!  We had burrata, fresh bread & crackers, and pre-made meatballs that we just had to heat up in tomato sauce.  We also opened a bottle of wine from Blasted Church that we bought last summer; you can only buy it at the winery so we were saving it for a special occasion.
T loves chocolate mousse and I love baking but have never made mousse before, so I asked him if we wanted me to try and make it for Valentine's Day dessert and he said 'why don't you just buy it?' LOL!  So that made it even easier for me!  We exchanged cards, and he bought me a heart pendant for my Melanie Auld Adorned necklace 💗.

We kind of knocked off all the plans on our weekend list yesterday, so I'm not sure what we're going to get up for the rest of the weekend!  T was at a friend's playing board games yesterday, and I went to look at stone for our bathroom counter, and shower fixtures once again.  Then I went downtown to exchange my J.Crew pants (see last week's post for details!) and buy some more dry shampoo from Sephora.  While I was downtown I stopped by the Vancouver Art Gallery to see the Cindy Sherman show, and then made my way back over to Kits for some hot yoga!

Jules in Flats - Babaton Murphy Top + Cardigan (Business Casual Winter Workwear on a Budget)

I mentioned this Babaton Murphy Blouse from Aritzia two weeks ago - I got it on sale for 50% off but I think this colour is sold out now.  They tend to bring it back every season in different colours, but I would definitely wait for it to go on sale if you can!  It's got a nice cropped length which is perfect because I feel like everything is high-waisted right now.

Jules in Flats - Oversize Floral Shift Dress + Zara Blazer (Business Casual Winter Workwear on a Budget)

Another new purchase - this oversized blazer with rolled up sleeves from Zara that I mentioned here.  At first I thought the blazer was maybe too oversized, I actually haven't taken the tags off yet.  But after wearing it this week I'm feeling a bit better about it!

Jules in Flats - Polka Dot Pants & Mesh Dot Collar Sweater (Business Casual Winter Workwear on a Budget)

This dotted mesh collar sweater is from Zara and is only $40!  It fits quite small, just FYI.  I am wearing a size small and it is cropped and fitted.  So cute and cozy though!

Nothing new here!  In fact, this feels like a bit of an old-school outfit.  If you've been reading style & fashion blogs for a while, you'll know what that means!

Last weekend we went to Bells & Whistles to watch the Oscars and it was really fun!  Neither of us won, two girls tied with 11/12 answers correct and I only had 9 (T had less!).  For awhile there though I was doing really well - I didn't think Parasite was going to take Best Director and Best Picture, so that's where I went off track!

Here's what else we've been up to:

WATCHING

Survivor Season 40.  Yes, season forty!!  T and I love this show and this year all of the contestants are returning players that have won the game before.  It's very exciting!

The Outsider.  There are a lot of known actors in this show!  It's good and suspenseful but I just wish it didn't have a supernatural element, that kind of ruins it a bit for me.  We have one episode left!

Miss Americana.  I watched this Taylor Swift documentary last weekend and really enjoyed it!  I think I liked it more having listened to the Be There in Five podcast episode about it beforehand, but who knows?

Very Ralph.  I watched this documentary on Ralph Lauren last night and it was really good!  He's such an iconic American designer, I really enjoyed learning more about him (did you know he doesn't draw his own designs?!)

BUYING

I exchanged my J.Crew High Rise Peyton Wide Leg Cropped Pants and Cameron Slim Crop Pants in size 2 Petite for size 2 Regular and will have to get them hemmed.

Living Proof Dry Shampoo in regular & travel size.

EATING

Chicken Fajitas.  I bought these pre-made from Meinhardt's deli on my way home from work on Monday.  We heated them up in the microwave and then in a pan & ate them with salsa, sour cream & hot sauce.  Easy!

Pizza + pizza leftovers.  Tuesday we ordered an extra large pizza with mushrooms and prosciutto.  There was tons leftover so we ate it again for Wednesday's dinner.

Mexican.  T ordered chicken wings & fish tacos and I ordered tortilla soup.  It was so good.

Meatballs + burrata + bread + wine for Valentine's Day.

FITNESS

I bought a pass for Kondi Fitness so I can go there more frequently.  Their classes are so convenient for me, and are also challenging.  I like the Class Pass-like element of not being able to cancel within 12 hours as well, it holds me more accountable which I feel like I need.  This week I went to Bad ASS, HIIT Cals and Kondi Cals.  I also did Body Pump and hot yoga.

Let me know what you've been up to in the comments & as always, thank you so much for visiting!
