Jules in Flats - February Outfits Week 1 (Business Casual Winter Workwear on a Budget)

Hi everyone, happy February!

It snowed again this week and while it's since melted, it still feels like we have a lot more winter ahead of us.

What is everyone up to this weekend?  We don't really have any plans but I am excited to watch the Oscars on Sunday (or Monday)!  Last year we watched them at a bar and T won the ballot contest (he had the most right answers + the tie-breaking question of how long the show ran for)!  That was really fun so we may do it again ... we'll see!

We've seen most of the major films nominated except for Little Women, Judy, Harriet, Pain & Glory, Richard Jewell and A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood.  Okay that sounds like a lot but it's less than the ones we have seen, I swear!

Jules in Flats - Marled Turtleneck Sweater with Patterned Pixie Pants (Business Casual Winter Workwear on a Budget)

This is basically the same outfit I wore the first week of January, except the cream sweater has a turtleneck and I'm wearing flats instead of booties.  Normally I do a better job of cycling through my coloured and patterned pants, so that I don't repeat them too frequently, but I guess I got out of rotation this week!

Jules in Flats - T-Shirt Dress + Oversized Plaid Blazer (Business Casual Winter Workwear on a Budget)

This outfit is just a simple t-shirt dress from H&M and an oversized plaid blazer from Dynamite.  I'm still not sure about the clear buttons on this blazer - do you guys think they are okay or should I switch them out or exchange the blazer for a different style?

Jules in Flats - Duster Cardigan with Botanical Print Blouse (Business Casual Winter Workwear on a Budget)

Trust me when I tell you this outfit looked a lot better in person.  Or at least, I liked it a lot better in person!  It's so f*cking hard to take photos of myself with my hair back that actually look good.  I'm not going to lie, it's a small reason why I most often wear my hair down.  It's a very small reason among many, but still!

Jules in Flats - Tweed Mini Skirt with Textured Knit Sweater (Business Casual Winter Workwear on a Budget)

I think I've been feeling uninspired in the skirt department as well - see comments under outfit #1 if you don't know what I'm talking about!  That's okay though, this was one of my favourite outfits of the week :)

So last weekend we did end up going tile shopping, and we found some tile that we like for the shower!  So that was a win, even if it was a bit of a trek to get all the way out there & back.  Also, as I mentioned I went to donate blood but unfortunately wasn't able to as my vein was too small 🤷

Here's what else we've been up to:

Watching:

Escape at Dannemora.  I mentioned this one last week and we finished it on Thursday.  Such a crazy true story!  All the actors are really good, Patricia Arquette and the man that plays her husband especially!

The Good Place Season 4.  Another series we finished this week.  It was good!

Uncut Gems.  We watched this last Sunday night and wow.  What a ride!  The pace of this movie is relentless and it's totally nuts.  I liked it.

Buying:

Nothing new since last week, but a couple of updates:

My Zara ordered arrived and I am keeping the Dotted Mesh Collar Sweater in grey and the Blazer with Rolled up Sleeves.  The blazer is possibly too oversized on me, but I'm going to keep the tags on and try it next week just to make sure either way.

My Petites order from J.Crew also arrived, I got the Cameron Slim Crop Pant and Peyton High Rise Wide Leg Pant and they are both too small!  So funny, the regular size fit perfectly except for the length when I tried them on in store at the end of December.  Almost 2 months later and I could have just been wearing them already!

Eating:

Nachos.  These were really yummy.  We ate them Sunday night while watching Uncut Gems.

Teriyaki Salmon + Roasted Broccoli.  A classic easy & healthy meal for a Monday night.

Goats Cheese Stuffed Chicken + Caesar Salad + Asparagus.  I made the salad & T did the rest!  So yummy.

Steak + Greek Pasta Salad.  Another T special.  He's very good at cooking steak & we both love it.

Frozen Pizza + Caesar Salad.  Not our best moment but you make do with what you've got!

Pho.  I haven't had pho in forever and I don't know what made me think of it, but T's not a huge fan so I stopped at a new place in Kits on my own after yoga last night.  It was good but I ate too much or too quickly and felt SO full afterwards.

Fitness:

That's it!  What have you all been up to?  Let me know in the comments & thank you so much for visiting!
