Hi everyone!  How are you?

I'm good, my brows have healed after last week's waxing, but man my skin was terrible this week!  I'm not sure what it was, maybe my retinol, but in addition to multiple new large zits popping up on my chin DAILY, my skin was dry, patchy and flaky.  It was SUPER FUN let me tell you.  It seems to be improving now, fingers crossed I'm not jinxing myself by saying that.

I don't know if I talked about it on here or just IG Stories, I must have, but J.Crew Factory came out with a new style of flats called the Marina.  They are a basic pointy toe flat in leather, and you know I am all about good black & neutral flats, so I ordered both colours, plus the cute cap-toe colourway when they were 50% off + free shipping.  They arrived Wednesday night so I wore them Thursday (you can see them below in the last outfit) and did a little try-on/review on my Stories Friday AM.

Hi everyone!  What are you up to this weekend?

We have been taking it easy, watching a lot of HGTV and reading things on the internet.  Today I think we might go to Home Depot (if you're new here, I hate it there!) to grab a few annoying things and look at bathroom countertops and closet doors.

My eyebrows were getting out of control and I forgot to make an appointment on Thursday or Friday, so yesterday I had them done when I was getting my nail polish changed because I didn't want to wait until Tuesday to go to my regular brow wax place.  I love my nail place because they are fast and cheap (it's totally no frills) but I will not go there again to get waxed - my eyebrows are still red and sore and she took off more than my regular lady does.  Also, they asked twice if I wanted waxing or threading and I said waxing - which she started with, but then she did threading at the end as well!  Which actually I've never had done, but I found it more painful than waxing and am thinking that is why I am still red and sore?  Anyways, just a little cautionary tale - don't cheat on your waxer if you have a good one!!  BTW if you are local to Vancouver, my regular gal is Olga at Voka Deka :)

Happy belated Valentine's Day & I hope you get to enjoy a long weekend this weekend!

T & I usually make a fancy dinner at home for Valentine's Day, and this year it was fancy-ish but also super easy!  We had burrata, fresh bread & crackers, and pre-made meatballs that we just had to heat up in tomato sauce.  We also opened a bottle of wine from Blasted Church that we bought last summer; you can only buy it at the winery so we were saving it for a special occasion.
T loves chocolate mousse and I love baking but have never made mousse before, so I asked him if we wanted me to try and make it for Valentine's Day dessert and he said 'why don't you just buy it?' LOL!  So that made it even easier for me!  We exchanged cards, and he bought me a heart pendant for my Melanie Auld Adorned necklace 💗.

We kind of knocked off all the plans on our weekend list yesterday, so I'm not sure what we're going to get up for the rest of the weekend!  T was at a friend's playing board games yesterday, and I went to look at stone for our bathroom counter, and shower fixtures once again.  Then I went downtown to exchange my J.Crew pants (see last week's post for details!) and buy some more dry shampoo from Sephora.  While I was downtown I stopped by the Vancouver Art Gallery to see the Cindy Sherman show, and then made my way back over to Kits for some hot yoga!

Hi everyone, happy February!

It snowed again this week and while it's since melted, it still feels like we have a lot more winter ahead of us.

What is everyone up to this weekend?  We don't really have any plans but I am excited to watch the Oscars on Sunday (or Monday)!  Last year we watched them at a bar and T won the ballot contest (he had the most right answers + the tie-breaking question of how long the show ran for)!  That was really fun so we may do it again ... we'll see!

We've seen most of the major films nominated except for Little Women, Judy, Harriet, Pain & Glory, Richard Jewell and A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood.  Okay that sounds like a lot but it's less than the ones we have seen, I swear!
