Jules in Flats - October Outfits (Business Casual Fall Workwear on a Budget)

Hi everyone!

Like I predicted last week, it finally got cold enough to wear tights :(  Not only that, but the boiler at work broke so we've been without heat for the past week!  We do have space heaters that we can use at our desks, but normally I have my space heater on in addition to the gallery heat!  LOL. On Friday I literally did not take off my winter coat all day.

On Friday night we went to Victoria to visit my cousins for Thanksgiving!  We had made a reservation on the ferry for 8pm (on long weekends you NEED to make a ferry reservation or you will be waiting for hours/potentially not get on a ferry) and unfortunately traffic was really bad and we missed our reservation cut off time by 4 minutes!  Sometimes you can still get on the ferry even if you miss the cut off but because it was so busy we missed the 8pm ferry and got on the 9 instead.  It was a long day to say the least!

Jules in Flats - Gap Red Sweater with High Rise Skinny Ankle Pants in Polka Dot (Business Casual Fall Workwear on a Budget)

Sorry this sweater is so wrinkly!!  I love this sweater, it's an old one from Gap and it's this thick cotton material that never seems to shrink, pill or fade.  I kept the look simple with only black and white accent colours.

Jules in Flats - H&M Jacquard Silky Midi Skirt with Cropped Knit Sweater (Business Casual Fall Workwear on a Budget)

This is a new silky midi skirt from H&M.  You can't quite tell here, but it has a sort of small leopard pattern in black!  There's also a thin elastic waistband so it's quite comfortable.  I'm wearing the 6.

Jules in Flats - Floral Top with Knit Duster Vest (Business Casual Fall Workwear on a Budget)

I have definitely worn this exact outfit before (maybe with my black vest, before I got this grey one).  It's an easy combination and I was trying to stay warm at work!  Also this lip colour is new, it's a gloss crayon by Burt's Bees in Tahitian Sunset.

Jules in Flats - H&M Creped Dress (Business Casual Fall Workwear on a Budget)

Another new H&M purchase!  This dress is only $20 and comes in a bunch of different colours & patterns.  This colourway is different than any other dresses that I have and the 6 fits pretty perfectly on me.

Thanksgiving in Victoria was great, we got to meet my cousin's new daughter who is now 4 months old, and visit their house that they just moved into in August!  They also have an almost 3 year old so they're definitely in a busy season of life right now!  We had a delicious turkey dinner on Saturday night and stayed up late drinking wine and chatting.  The next day we slept in and then went to visit some friends that moved into a new place in downtown Victoria.  I think the last time we saw them was in the Spring, so it was really good to catch up.  We took the ferry back to Vancouver Sunday night and I pretty much fell asleep on the couch as soon as we got home!

We are taking it easy today, I would like to do some laundry and unpack our weekend bags, and I think Tony is going to make poutine with the garlic cheese curds that I talked about last week!  The weather seems good so I wouldn't mind a little walk outside as well.

I did take advantage of some Thanksgiving sales this weekend though!  After seeing Kendi in this cozy sherpa bomber jacket I decided I needed one!  Buuuuut not for $200.  Luckily I found one at Abercrombie for $60!  To get free shipping I also added this v-neck white bodysuit to my cart.

Dynamite was also having a sale so I finally got to order this long sleeved midi dress!  I had to spend more to get the discount so I also ordered this wrap dress in the black and yellow print (I already have it in white, I wore it here).

Anyways, that's it for now!  Thank you so much for visiting!
