 Hi everyone!

It's a long weekend here in Canada since Monday is Canada Day and we have very few plans!  LOL . Getting out of town on a long weekend is always a bit of a nightmare with traffic, so that's why we went away last weekend instead!

We are going over to a friend's place on Sunday night for a bit of a Canada Day party and that's really the only thing we have planned!

I have a feeling there are going to be some good sales on this weekend - my colleague Kate and I were talking about how this is actually a great weekend for sales because summer stuff is on sale and you still have two months to wear it.  So now the question is do I shop online or in store?

I feel like T and I have quite a bit we could get done around the house this weekend too - we bought a big print for our living room that we just had framed, so that needs to get picked up and hung; our new couch arrived two weeks ago and we need to pick out some new throw pillows and a coffee table and we need a piece of art or a mirror for our dining room.  The patio is a whole other beast too, especially now that the big tree is gone :( but we're in a bit of a limbo as the balcony remediation is going to begin soon and I don't know if that means our patio will be totally out of commission or not.  We have meeting on Tuesday to talk about it so hopefully more answers & a timeline then!

Last week I mentioned that I did some shopping that I wanted to tell you about!  After my success with this jumpsuit from Old Navy, I decided to try out this one from Banana Republic.  Since you can order from BR, Gap and Old Navy all at once I also decided to order this cute romper from ON, and this nightie and these sweats from Gap.  I don't own any sweats but want a pair for camping this summer and none of the pairs I've tried on have worked - including this pair :(.  The nightie is a bit big, and the pink is more neon than I was expecting, but I'm going to try and shrink it in the wash.  The romper is a keep (so cute) but the jumpsuit is going back.  The colour was also more neon than I was expecting, and it was too small (I ordered a 2P).

I also ordered some bathing suits from H&M to try!  They were having a sale so the prices were super reasonable, and I ordered a few items in a bunch of different sizes since I find you never really know with H&M what size you are (or is that just me?)!  Here's what I ordered: this scalloped top in the yellow/white stripe and the blue/white stripe, this scalloped triangle top in white, and these scalloped bottoms in white and the yellow/white stripe.  What I kept was the scalloped triangle top in white and the scalloped bottoms in yellow/white stripe!  I really wanted to love this top, but it just wasn't comfortable on me, even in the larger size.  Too bad because it's super cute!

Aritzia is having their annual summer sale so I ordered a few things from there as well.  This sleeveless swing dress I have in black already and love, so I ordered it in the cute lilac colour.  Easy, comfy dresses are my MO in the summer so I ordered this t-shirt dress in pink (it has pockets!) to try as well but it's backordered so won't ship for another two weeks.  I also ordered and returned this tie-front striped top and this weekender tote.

Okay, let's talk about this week's outfits!  I'm going to keep it brief this week as I don't really feel like there's a lot to say about what I wore this week 🤷

Outfit #1: A printed top + ankle pants is a go-to outfit combination for me and it was a bit rainy/wet on this day so this lightweight ruffle top from J.Crew Factory was perfect!  I ordered this top after seeing it on Brooke from Pumps & Push-Ups ... it's since sold out but I really love the similar one I've linked to.

Outfit #2: Another classic with a dress I've had for years!  If you saw my Insta Stories you know that I found out this dress was stained about mid-way through the day so that was fun!  LOL . I'm glad I put a clip in my hair that day, I think it looks cute :)

Outfit #3: I think this outfit looks better than it felt on.  The skirt kept riding up so it was distracting always having to pull it down.  I was also feeling bloated that day and the skirt has no stretch so that was making me feel even more uncomfortable.

Outfit #4: As I was taking these pictures I realized that the last time I wore these pants it was with a different grey sweater!  This sweater is more lightweight, plus with the 3/4 sleeves it was perfect for another rainy spring day.  I also like how the cropped length of the sweater pairs well with the high-waisted pants.  This outfit is a little simple, borderline boring, but at work I draped my denim jacket over my shoulders for a little more warmth and I thought it worked well!

Alright that's it from me for now!  Be sure to come back on Monday for my June Monthly Outfit Roundup :)
