Hi everyone!  I lightened my hair!

I kind of felt like I was in a rut with my hair and needed a change ... but not a cut!  I admit I was a bit nervous, it has been many years since I lightened my hair - I am more used to going dark, but in between I have really been enjoying my natural colour.  Anyways, I am loving it, thanks to my amazing stylist Ryan at Caramel Salon!  If you are in the Vancouver area and looking for a hairstylist, I highly recommend visit Ryan at Caramel, she is a total sweetheart and uber-talented.

Anyways, here are a few outfits I wore to work last week.  I didn't realize it at the time, but I'm pretty sure I've worn both the top right and bottom left outfits before!  Turns out, I was pretty close!  See here and here - does a simple necklace or shoe change count?

Hi everyone!
Here's a look at what I wore to work in the past two weeks ... with a few Valentines-ey outfits towards the end :)

I am so ready for Spring, how about you?  I am just kind of sick of all of this winter dressing and being cold all the time.  Luckily, this week it is supposed to be sunny and warm up slightly (like, 12 degrees Celsius), so that's something to look forward to!

I've been thinking about what I'd like to add to my Spring wishlist this year, and fill in any gaps from last season.  But, it feels too early to really start shopping yet.  Retailers are just beginning to add their Spring items, and I don't want to jump the gun on something I can't even wear yet because what if something better/cheaper pops up in a month?
So I am trying to be patient, building a list and keeping my eyes out for items that are wearable now and later.  I am also keeping in mind end of season Winter items on major sale right now - like a replacement pair of black booties!  My Old Navy ones have been worn to death and are looking a little worse for wear.  This time I'm looking for a leather pair, hopefully they will hold up better over time.
If you want to follow along with my Spring wishlist, follow me on Pinterest here.  I also Pin a lot of things I like and want to keep in mind on this board.

As always, thank you for visiting!!

Hey everyone, Happy February!

Normally I feel like January really drags its feet, but taking a week off near the end (we went to California) was amazing!

Anyways, here's a look at what else I wore to work in January.  I'll try to put together a Monthly Outfit Roundup later this week and then maybe a February Week One post early next!  Eek!  We have a long weekend coming up and T is going to Seattle so (in theory) I should have some time to blog :)

As I mentioned in my last post, I did some New Years shopping (literally - most of my new purchases were completed on New Year's Day!).  This Space-Dye Swing Dress from Old Navy is super cute and comfy.  I saw it on another blogger (I forget who - sorry!) and she was raving about how good it was so after some initial hesitation I decided to try it.  I was unsure for a few reasons - 1. I'm trying to buy less "knit" dresses etc as they show wear more quickly and look less expensive than other materials such as poly, silk, rayon etc.  2. The shape was kind of ... well, shapeless.  Or at the very least, attempting to "hide a pregnancy" (I'm not!).  3. The colour selection was limited.  I've started to feel a bit self-conscious about wearing grey after someone I know suggested it wasn't the most flattering colour on me.  To combat #3, I ordered it in both the blue and the grey, but ultimately decided the grey is more versatile.  I love the long sleeves, the short length, the shape (to hide my food baby) and the soft knit material, so it's definitely a winner!  I also ordered a very similar sleeveless dress in black from Aritzia that I wore in California.  Mega thumbs up - you will definitely see that on the blog in the Summer!

I finally bit the bullet and got a pink coat!!  Pink is my favourite colour and I have been dying for a pink coat for 2 winters now!  I also really wanted a camel coat (so versatile) and was focused on adding one of those to my closet first.  But after having no luck for the past two years (I had a pretty specific wishlist), and J.Crew's boxing week sale (40% off sale), I decided to go for it!  All in, the coat was $257 CAD.  Which is a lot of money for me to spend on one item, but for a piece of wool outerwear I think it is pretty reasonable/standard and hopefully this coat will last a long time.  The colour is just perfect, it's so pretty!  The fit is slightly oversized and boxy, which I knew and was willing to compromise on.  As someone who is petite, form-fitting outwear looks much better, however I like that I can layer thick sweaters etc underneath and it does nip in a bit at the waist.  The colour makes up for any shortcomings in my opinion!  Even the fact that it's not quite as warm as I was expecting!  Grace from The Stripe has the same coat in 2 colours (except hers has the fur-trimmed hood) and she says hers is warm in New York winter, so I don't know what's going on with mine?!  I am cold all the time, so maybe it's just that!

One last item to mention, the peplum wrap blouse from Dynamite which is now sold out!  Arghh!  I couldn't even find anything similar to link to but I promise if it gets re-stocked I will let you know.  I love that it's a neutral top with an interesting animal print-polka dot hybrid pattern going on.  The wrap front and subtle peplum are great details, too.  I really love this top.  In these photos I pinned the wrap front a little higher since I was wearing a camisole underneath that I didn't want showing, but in the Spring/Summer when a cami isn't necessary for warmth I don't think it would need to be pinned.

What are your thoughts on my purchases and outfits this week?  Have you already started thinking about your Spring wishlist?
