Who watched the Oscars this year?

My commentary is a little late, as we watched the show on Monday night.
Unfortunately I couldn't avoid the internet on Monday and did encounter a few spoilers - Jennifer Lawrence & Anne Hathaway's wins, and Life of Pi's win for visual effects.

I have to say, I was surprised that Jessica Chastain didn't win for Best Actress, but am so happy that Jennifer did.  She is so real, and humble, and hilarious.  If you haven't seen this clip, go watch it right now.  I promise you will fall in love with her.

I was not surprised by Anne's win but I don't like her so I didn't really care.

What I kind of wanted to discuss, though, was Seth Macfarlane.
Did you like him?  Did you think he was sexist?

Honestly, I was entertained and laughed out loud at many of his jokes.  I was not offended nor did I think he was sexist ... until I starting seeing all of these articles on the net (example here).  So what do you think ?

Another Double & Change of Schedule

I felt like I had almost no time to blog last week, so this week I'm going to double up on outfit pics in each post, and post less often.

  I used actually write my posts & upload the pics on the same morning I took them.  I have since changed my strategy so that I am not relying on 'having enough time before work', which is a very unreliable thing to do.  This change, along with holidays & missing few blogging days here and there, has left me with more than a few outfit pics that have piled up.

So, as I said at the top, I'm going to be posting fewer times per week, but with multiple outfit pics per post.  We'll see how that goes for awhile ... please, any feedback is welcome!

 Hi!  Happy Friday!

I have been a bad blogger this week, and I apologize!
We have been uncharacteristically busy with after-work activities -
Monday we met with a travel agent that specializes in destination weddings & then went out for dinner.  Tuesday I went to the gym after work and then we made quesadillas for dinner and caught up on some TV.  Wednesday we went to the Vancouver Aquarium's After Dark program.   Thursday my brother in law was in town so we went out for dinner at the Oakwood Bistro and then watched the latest episode of Survivor!
I am grateful that tonight is a stay at home night with T.  Tomorrow I work and we don't have any plans for Sunday yet.  I am hoping that it's a couch day, but we'll see!

Weekend Outlook

Hi there!  Did you all have a great Valentine's Day ?  I certainly hope so!
T totally spoiled me with unexpected presents, we made an epic dinner of steak & lobster, along with a bottle of red wine & a bottle of pink sparkling champagne.  Then I made a huge chocolate chip cookie that we ate with vanilla bean Haagen Dazs.  Yum! 

Tomorrow I have to work (we have a show opening at the gallery), but I do still get a weekend with Sunday & Monday.  We don't have plans for Sunday (yay!), and Monday we are meeting with a travel agent that specializes in destination weddings (also yay!).

What about you lovelies ?  Any plans for the weekend ?  Is it a long weekend where you are?

I didn't really know how to announce it here on the blog, or if I should go into much detail about it, but I'm happy the cat is finally out of the bag.  T & I are super excited about the wedding and I have been pinning wedding dresses like crazy, already!  Follow me here, if you're interested.

Loving the Long Weekend

Yesterday (Feb. 11) was a new holiday here in BC - Family Day.

Long weekends always make me wish that every weekend had 3 days.  I really feel like 2 days of relaxation are needed, and one day of productivity.

Here's what went down in our little corner of the world:
T & I went out for sushi & drinks Friday night with friends ... Saturday T went to poker in the afternoon while I caught up on Grey's Anatomy & went to the gym ... Sunday we went to Ikea & saw Life of Pi in 3D ... Monday we made Eggs Benedict for brunch & did some home projects.  All in all, an excellent weekend!

Here's what I wore this time last year:

 

Me vs. the Iron

These pants are a bit long and to be honest I have just been too lazy to have them hemmed.  I even bought some fabric glue to hem them myself, but that would require ironing them (to get the glue to set) ... and you would not believe the lengths I would go to, to avoid ironing.  It's not that I hate doing it, it's just that it is such a hassle!  If I had to wear freshly pressed shirts & pants everyday, I probably wouldn't avoid it so much, because then I wouldn't have anything to wear!

Just as an example, this blazer is my favourite one.  I've been wanting one in another colour for months, but I didn't want to pay full price.  I scored one on eBay for half price, and bought it in November.  I haven't worn it yet because its all wrinkled and I'm too lazy to iron it!  Yikes!

Is Spring in the Air?

I'm getting the urge to buy Spring clothes.
You know when they all start coming out in stores & all of a sudden you want to wear florals, pastels, white jeans & breton stripes ?  That's how I'm feeling.
Unfortunately I can't afford to do any shopping at the moment so I'll have to survive on Pinterest !

Hello!

Sorry for the unexpected hiatus!  T surprised me with a pre-weekend trip out of town & although we did have internet access, I didn't feel like blogging!  

This is an outfit I wore last week.  I like how the blue tights & purple belt break up the black & white in the dress & boots.  You can't really tell but the tights have a zig zag pattern and the belt is suede, so there are a couple of different textures going on.
