(Top by Off the Wall, Skirt & Necklace by Joe Fresh, Sandals by Le Chateau, Ring by Tiffany & Co.)

Good morning lovelies!
This will be my last outfit post for awhile as the camera got packed away last night and I don't have any back up pics for you.  Except iPhone pics.  Which are terrible.  Don't get me wrong, the iPhone 4 has a great camera, but the mirror in our bedroom is small and the background is messy.  You don't want to see them.  So anyways, I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!  It's a long weekend here in Canada, Monday is Labour Day.  Do you you US ladies have that too ?

Casual

8.30.2012

(Cardigan by H&M, Shirt by Gap, Jeans by 7 for all Mankind, Shoes by Polo (from Ross), Belt by Joe Fresh, Necklace by Aldo)

Hello!
I wore this outfit on Monday when we did our tourist thing.  It was a little chilly in shade of the rainforest canopy, so I'm glad I brought this cardigan ... and a scarf !
T and I have been making good progress on painting the new place; tonight we are going to focus on packing!

Hi!
Yesterday was a lot of fun playing tourist & today I am heading off to a Stagette (Bachelorette) Party for a wonderful friend who is tying the knot in November!  Its definitely going to be a busy week!  We have to finish painting the new apartment, pack the old place and of course, move!  Wish me luck :)

Tourist

8.27.2012

(Top by Urban Outfitters, Pants by Gap, Shoes by Aldo (Outlet), Necklace by Joe Fresh)

Just a quick hello this morning as I am heading off to play tourist in my own town!
My dad is here, with his sister from New Zealand and her friend, and we are going to check out the Capilano Suspension Bridge, possibly Grouse Mountain & Granville Island.  The Suspension Bridge is one of those things I've always wanted to do, but have made too many excuses not too (its kind of far, its busy on the weekends, its expensive blah blah) so I'm really excited to see it today.  I hope you all have a great one too!
Oh, and it's T's birthday today!  Happy Birthday T!

Nice Light

8.23.2012

(Pants by H&M, Shirt by Old Navy, Scarf by F21, Sandals by Le Chateau)

So, I went outside to take outfit pics this morning and it was raining!  Totally unexpected as I had just been looking at the weather report on my iPhone before I got up and there was zero rain in the forecast!  Anyways, I didn't want to depress everyone by using an umbrella, so post-work photos it is.  And actually, the light is really nice!

By the way, exciting news!  T & I got the keys to our first home purchase today!
We have been wanting to buy a place to call our own for some time now and finally all the cards came together.  We are super excited and will be taking over test pots of paint colours tonight!

Belt-less

8.22.2012

(Dress by Banana Republic (outlet), Shoes by Payless, Jewelry by Aldo, Le Chateau, F21 & Tiffany & Co.)

Hello lovelies!
So remember when I said that I tried to wear this dress without a belt and couldn't pull it off ?  Well, ta-da!  I think a statement necklace in a bold colour would have looked great too, but I don't own one of those so layering long necklaces it is!
Also, I think I have finally come to accept that I cannot wear those black Aldo sandals with every outfit anymore.   I can't promise you won't see them again, but I'll try.  I promise.

Purple Suede Belt

8.21.2012

(Top by H&M, Skirt by F21, Belt by J. Crew Factory, Shoes by Aldo, Jewelry by Tiffany & Co. & no name earrings)

This is purple suede belt was my first purchase from J. Crew (Factory, no less)!  On the way home from camping in Washington State this past weekend my male cousin and T both kindly agreed to stop at the Tulalip Outlets for me.  I was only allowed 40 minutes (!) and it was super busy, but I managed to get to Banana Republic (no finds :() and J.Crew and came away with both this belt for $20 and an awesome tweed-y mini skirt that will be perfect for fall (for around $47).

Graphic Tank

8.20.2012

(Top by Urban Outfitters, Jeans by 7 for all Mankind, Sandals by Aldo)

Well hello!
This top is from Urban Outfitters and it is definitely a fave in my closet.  You haven't seen it yet because as you can see it has spaghetti straps which is not work-appropriate.  For a night out though, or a warm and casual day like today, its perfect.  Like most things at U.O. it was way overpriced at first, but I scored it on sale :)

Cheers to the freakin' weekend

8.16.2012

(Top & Shorts by Banana Republic (outlet), Sandals by Le Chateau, Necklace by Aldo)

Yes, I was totally listening to Rihanna this morning!
This outfit is bordering on too casual for the gallery, but I am leaving early today for another long weekend and I just couldn't help getting into vacation mode a little early.
I have been reading a lot of other blogs lamenting the end of summer and heralding the onset of fall, but honestly I cannot agree!  June especially and sometimes July in Vancouver are not hot and sunny.  August, on the other hand ?  Gorgeous.  Hot, sunny, beach days.  Patio drinking.  Warm nights.  Summer here isn't nearly over and I'll be damned to say I am looking forward to fall.  No way, Jose.  Not this girl.

Have an awesome week and I'll be back on Monday!

A Shirtdress is all you need

8.15.2012

(Dress & Belt by H&M, Sandals by Aldo, Ring by Le Chateau, Bracelets by Sirens, Necklace by Tiffany & Co.)

Okay, so maybe you need a few other things besides a shirtdress, but let's be honest, shirtdresses are awesome.  They are cute, but polished, you can switch out the belt for whatever vibe you want, and you can wear it plain or layer the heck out of it.  Best of all, like all dresses, it's pretty much an entire outfit in one piece!
Anyways, I always thought I had a lot of dresses that were work-appropriate, or at least could be made to look so by adding a blazer or cardigan, but looking in my closet this morning I realized that I have worn them all at least twice since May!  So, dresses are back on my shopping radar.  Any good deals you've seen lately ?  Any absolutely fabulous dresses you own that I must own too ?  Spill!

Boho

8.14.2012

(Top by H&M, Skirt by Song, Necklace by Aldo, Sandals by Le Chateau)

These colours don't exactly scream summer, but I'm okay with that.  I think they give off more of a laid back, boho vibe, which is exactly what I needed to ease me back into work mode today.

Back ... for now

8.13.2012

(Top by Urban Outfitters, Skirt by Song, Shoes by Aldo, Jewelry by F21 & Sirens)

I'm back from an awesomely sunny, hot and party-filled long weekend on a boat!
Luckily, I didn't have to work today, but that also meant I had the task of unpacking and cleaning all of our stuff, and then filling up the fridge for the next few days.  T and I are headed out on Thursday after work for another long weekend, this time camping in Washington State with my family.  I am really looking forward to it!
I hope you are all filling the rest of your summers with amazing weekends (and weekdays) too!

The Short & Long of it

8.08.2012

(Top by Old Navy, Cardigan by Costa Blanca (gifted), Pants by Gap, Shoes by Aldo)

Hooray for a 2-day work week and an uber-long weekend!

Tomorrow T & I leave for a 3-day houseboating adventure with 12 other people!  That's right, 12.  Luckily, 2 other couples have volunteered to spearhead the menu planning and food buying, so all we need to bring is booze & snacks.  Oh ya!

I hope you all have a great rest of the week & an awesome weekend too ... catch ya next week :)

A Floaty top & a Bright Red skirt

8.07.2012

(Top by Banana Republic, Skirt by Dynamite, Shoes by Le Chateau, Earrings by Spring)

So, I didn't have time to do my hair today ...

And this skirt is one of those items that looks good, and goes with a lot of other items well, but has a tight high-waisted elastic that just makes you feel like you shouldn't eat anything all day.  Which is a shame, because I like eating things all day!

Speaking of which ... don't you hate how Pinterest just makes you hungry ?  Even when you've just eaten ?!  Follow me here if you'd like to see what I've been craving (both food and otherwise).

Plum & Ikat

8.06.2012

(Dress by Gap Outlet (similar by Gap), Cardigan by Costa Blanca (gifted, similar), Sandals by Le Chateau, Necklace by Joe Fresh (similar, expensive!))

Hi there! Happy Monday!

This outfit was supposed to be posted Friday, but that just didn't end up happening.  Its a long weekend here in Canada (except for a couple of provinces, I think) and the weather has been absolutely gorgeous.  I'm away for the next couple of weekends so I'll be MIA from the blog a bit.

I've been craving more coloured skinny pants, and after Jean at Extra Petite posted this yesterday, I want to get to an H&M asap!
